man you guys just try to be as unhelpful as possible
@Oregon143 take this with a grain of salt and compare all your options obviously. Taking into account max value, security concerns, effort and time to sell, etc., dependent on what’s most important to you how and where you sell may be different.
That being said, most folks here, subjective that we may be, likely think that you’ll obviously sell the absolute fastest here, but also likely receive comparable $ to anywhere else.
Just for total giggles, let’s say on
eBay they go for $1 a chip (again just an easy round number to use for an example, not actual amount obvi.).
Your time and effort with photos and listings is worth something.
You’ll need to determine breakdowns, or rack by rack, or whatever you prefer. Less optimal breakdowns will result in lower $, although per rack may be more. Additionally, your last racks may be worth more if people are left hanging at the end with unplayable sets, or they may sit and go cheap if unneeded for finished sets.
You’ll be paying 13.6% to
eBay + .40 per listing, might have potential payment/withdrawal fees dependent, and will be personally shipping everything out.
At best, you’re clearing sub $85 per $100 sold.
Here, the route would be having someone with a lengthy online presence (member since 2019) who has traded/bought/sold thousands and thousands in poker chips with a stellar reputation in
@UnicornFlash who can visit in person.
You both can reference the market price here on PCF by easily searching and seeing previous sales. Your buyers on
eBay or elsewhere is…us. We’d be shopping your listings. There is no other playable poker chip set community that exists and would have even 5% of our membership.
Payment can be made there, safely, secure, one single transaction where he (unicorn flash) can then deal with splitting chips/seta/racks getting them to the people who need them and shipping following the customs and standards chippers are used to.
I personally have sold 5 different online large finds, twice
publicly and 3 times privately. It’s an almost foolproof process where every one wins - well except the faceless company
eBay.
YMMV, but thought I’d share the thought process.
