Hi folks
Maybe a stupid question but here goes.

I'm pretty happy with my small Angry Mallard ceramic tourney set but i'm not sure about the best breakdown for single table tourneys lasting around 1,5 hours. Any recomendations?

Thanks and kind regards

An hour and a half isn't very long. How many players?

I don't think that's going to be enough time, even for six. Even if you do 15 minute levels and start with only 80 BBs, a quality structure is going to require about 3 hours.

There are far more experienced tourney people around here but I don’t see why you couldn’t do something like this:

6 players - T5k
Starting stacks 25/100/500/1k - 12/12/5/6
12 min rounds:

25-50
50-100
100-200
150-300
200-400
300-600
400-800
500-1000

I prefer a flatter structure and longer levels, but if you want it done and over in approx 90 min, this would do it

Edit: maff is hard, I just realized I put down the usual T10k breakdown and not 5k

1.5h is a bit short. Here's a turbo structure for around 2 hours:
T3k stacks, 15 minute levels
25/50
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300
Color-up T25
200/400
300/600
400/800 (Should end around here)
600/1200
800/1600

If you remove or merge or shorten levels, the effect might be that the tourneys last to higher BB levels. The reason is that time is also an important factor; players need time to get eliminated. The 20 BB rule turns into the ~15 or even as low as 10 BB rule if you don't allow players enough time to get eliminated. Vice versa for longer tournaments.

So chances are that a 1.5h tournament needs an even more aggressive structure than what one might initially think.
