Is there a thread that someone can point me to that lays out the BASICS of tournament logistics, determining starting stacks, etc.? Picked up one of the Sheraton Casino sets from the Chiproom sale, and dont know where to begin for setting up a tournament with 8-10 people. I am confident this has been covered before. Thanks in advance.

What is you breakdown in chips ?
After that we can look at starting stacks & structure.

If this is the breakdow:

20-T5
180-T25
220-T100
80-T500

Use the T5 for bounties
12/12/7 for 5000 in starting stack

Will you need rebuys ?
How many hours do you want the tourney to run ?

Will want re-buys. 2 hours or so length (so we can move on to cash game).

With rebuys, just use 2500 starting stacks

That leaves plenty of chips for rebuys
First level 25/25 for 100BB

I'll check for a structure that fits your needs...
But Dave @BGinGA & others have much more wisdom so they could jump in
