Wouldn't it be easier just to collect all the payments now so it doesn't slow things down once the chips arrive.....just my initial thought.

Maybe. Its not a huge difference. Also I'd rather people keep their money incase something goes off the rails, like the container falls into the ocean or something. I'm basically fronting the risk, which is what I'm more comfortable with.
