Man and here I was trying to talk myself into the whole claw set. Thankfully I don’t have enough money for that.

Do Overlabels look odd on murdered chips? I’m aware that I could just get new gear labels but all my other bear claws are going to be oversized black over labels.

Will I run into issues?

Yes — definitely. A friend and neighbor tested overlabels on a batch of S&K $5s he had that were already murdered, hoping to skip removing and replacing the inlays. You could clearly see the outline of the recessed area where the new inlay sat. I’d strongly advise against overlabeling milled chips.

I have dropped the price on the aqua claws, because there are some TRKs that I want.
The aqua claws are coming off the table if I miss out on the TRKs.

Now's your chance!

Yes you will - which is why it's on our list of things we won't do.
Why is it okay to relabel a chip that has its inlay removed but not okay to overlabel a chip that has been relabeled? Is it that a relabel + an overlabel is thicker than an original inlay?

I'm guessing that's the case, yes. I'd guess that relabel+overlabel is thicker than original+overlabel.

Refer to my comment below in the previous thread.

In other words, more often that not, the new label sits just a hair below the clay portion that was perfectly level with the original inlay from the factory. Apply an overlabel and that small difference becomes visible when the overlabel dips down into that ever so small height difference.

Thanks for the heads up. These ones dont have the NCVs so theyre not for me but that could also be a plus for anyone that wants them as fracs.
Or wants murdered red claws for any other relabeling. They’re already murdered!

I would even be willing to remove the frac labels before shipping, if requested.
