Was excited to get my fitbit going again, saw google bought them, I said, no thanks.

^Saw one of these in the grocery store parking lot the other day. So incredibly gross.

I had an AC guy come out and he was pretty honest with me that the yearly check ups aren't worth much. He said, keep an eye on things and when it starts to act weird thats when you need someone to come out. Only thing I guess they could spot is a very slow leak of freon before it's gotten to low and causes cooling issues maybe? Last summer our freon was leaking at the coils right before a trip out of town. When we got back it started to cause condensation on the pipes which leaked into the ceiling because when the freon is too low, it can't regulate temperatures properly.

He also told me to look up the capacitors and have a backup of each one (if you have mutliple units). They are the top thing to go out due to heat and usage so I have a couple on top of my chip shelf just in case.

Other than that, change your air filters regularly and remember to flush the drain pipes with a little bleach from time to time.

Yeah, I told myself I was gonna do that the last time this happened, about two years ago, also on the hottest day of the year…
