Things That Are Bullsh*t (7 Viewers)

Had my only Aunts Funeral last night… feeling low a cousin invited me to the county fair there in Ole Fredneck… I decided to join, had to pay to park, $10 no biggie, they direct me into the spot back up behind some row houses… I mean it’s public parking…

Went to fair, enjoyed my eventing out after a rough afternoon… funeral was after work so never took the company truck home till after the fair…

I come out this morning to this, even in the dark I was like… wait a minute!

What do you call the opposite of stealing… but you also STILL get the shit end of the deal… FML!! Some asshole used my truck to clean out their garbage in their shed!!! F*****king Savages!!!!
That’s crazy. Once I parked at college in my pickup and came back after class to find a legit Katana in the back. I reported it to campus security because I didn’t know the history of it.

But yeah people will throw half eaten donuts and all sorts of garbage in the back of a pickup truck.

When you hand someone new their starting stack after teaching them the basic rules of poker and they get baited to go all in preflop and get knocked out so they don't have anything to do for the next 2 hours lol.

Do they have preflop pot-limit tournaments is that a thing, or is it all no limits?
I do "pre-buy" NLHE tournaments for newer and more casual players.

Your buy-in gets you a starting stack and a rebuy chip. If you bust in the first few levels (usually 60-90 minutes), you have a prepaid rebuy. If not, at the end of the rebuy period it becomes an add-on. No additional rebuys or add-ons are allowed.

This gives a second chance to players who get unlucky or play badly early, but otherwise allows the tourney to play like a freezeout.

Forgetting to get into this hobby in 2023... this set was free money lol.

Eeeuurggh. Look at those horrible $20s. The rest are ‘meh’ at best. Too bright and too expensive. What’s the other line - oh yeah, Ken is a flipper and adds no value to his hobby, that NY vulture.

I will retract this statement when either Russets and/or alt-500s end up in my possession.

This is only for new players? Because it sounds like a license to play like a maniac early.
We do the same thing, but to curb this behavior the “rebuy/addon” chip is half starting stack only. No point in playing like a maniac to just get half stack to try and come back from. It actually encourages better play early because the half starting stack add on later is a much better deal.

Better deal? Rebuy of 50xBB versus an addon of 15xBB later?
I’d rather have $14,000 at the first break than $5000. Maybe my math is bad and I just get lucky a lot.

I’ll have to add I’m not sure what the BB stuff is about. It always sounds like justification for bad decisions when it’s used.

If you're getting a half stack, it's likely 50 (or 25)xBB in the second blind level, but if you wait to the first break, the same stack as an addon is likely only 15 (or 10)xBB.

I don't see how that is a "better deal" especially because it's the same chip stack.

I always think of my stack in terms of BBs in tournaments.

Ok. The internets is fixed now.

Sure that happens sometimes, but I never get complaints about a player who wants to spew off his first stack early. :cool

Quick backstory: Many years ago, my super-casual Tuesday night tourney group had a problem - sometimes players would bust really early, and they didn't want to wait two hours for a cash game that may or may not happen. Some players in the group wanted to move from freezeout to rebuy, others were adamantly against it. I came up with the pre-buy idea as a compromise, we tried it for a month, and everyone was really happy with it.
