I agree. And everyone gives great advice to save, skip over the first few tiers, invest the time and due diligence, and find what you love the first time and you’ll save yourself a lot of dough.
It may have cost me a substantial amount, but Ive enjoyed the journey so far, and I’m still just scratching the surface. I’m not even ashamed of that time I experimented in college with some china clays...

I personally have ZERO issues with what you're calling the ChipSluts, Frank. I'm not one of them but I can't expect everyone to have the same chip mentality I do. Different strokes for different folks.
The one minor gripe I have with it, sometimes, is that large sets are purchased and then broken apart into weird breakdowns, making it harder for larger sets to be had afterwards. Having said that, there is nothing wrong at all with that practice as the sets, once belonging to the ChipSlut, are his/hers for whatever they decide to do with them. No complains on my end.

That’s what I’m saying, I apply the detroitdad school of thought. I’m walking into baskin and robins ready to lick all 31 flavors.
Edit: but like everyone is saying, there’s a right way. I subscribe fully to the detroitdad way, where part of being an optimal chipslut is keeping sets mostly together, not doing it in a profit driven mindset, and having fun while helping others.

I believe that being a chip slut is partially due to BANKROLL! Many are buying and selling to fund the next set. Not everyone may have the funds to keep more than a couple of sets.
Nothing wrong with chip sluts! I have sold some chips in the past but I still have a bunch of what I have purchased in the past.
