I am not often a seller. Really, almost never. However, my wife has started getting concerned about what she will do if I die. Just gentle nudges for now.

I do get her point. Before covid, I hosted about 50 games a year. Now I host 20. Getting all the sets in play isn't happening so what's the point of chips you never get into the action? And I am getting older, with one serious health scare behind me. Death isn't as unthinkable today.

I thought it might be prudent to look for a place to start. I started here: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/pca-secondary-5-rack-1400.133588/#post-2722199 My PCA set hasn't been in play since 2018. Why not let it go and see how that feels. < kind of like kicking your kid out of the house?>

So, all my PCA chips are gone. A tiny void in the closet/vault is there if you know where to look. I hope my babies are going to a better place -=- DrStrange

If it helps ease the letting go, there is always hope for something new and flashy to catch the momentary attention of the forum. You can always try to fill the void left behind with sets leaving with whatever new chip is coming to market.

Letting "stuff" go is a hard thing. Better to take care of it now when you are in control rather than letting someone else manage the sets if/when you are unable to.

Can't wait to see which set(s) make it to market eventually.

You sent chips to a chipper who moves chips somewhat often, runs various games, and often buys high and has to sell low.

Imo, not a bad home to send them off to.

And hey, if having the chips makes you happy, that's something in and of itself. I suppose time will tell with that small missing hole now. I'm sorry for the run of bad luck leading up to this though, between kids and the foot/leg issue. I would hope though that whether you decide to sell more or not, the chips can bring enjoyment whether that's just going through and cataloging everything and keeping, or finding homes for some specific sets.

Just in case, I'll start putting away my pennies every day in case a piece of the outpost set is cut out for the auction/selling block.

Best wishes as you contemplate embarking on this journey.

No one knows how close I came to buying up that Golden Nugget set from earlier this year. That was my favorite Las Vegas stop in my younger years. But trying to explain why I was buying more chips when I was in theory thinking about thinning the horde slowed me down enough to miss out on that set.

Just let @djmarc know how many GN's you need ;)

Just to be clear. I am not on the doorstep of death. I have 20-25 years of life expectancy left. Condolences and best wishes are premature. Just, I don't need tens of thousands of chips. Likely could get by with 10,000.

Maybe she accidentally let it slip that she's planning to...no, that can't be it!

I'll buy back that limit set of Cavanaugh $1s from you, though.

I am thinking about previewing what's on the second shelf to see about interest, once I get back from vacation in July.

I see at least two giveaways. Plus, a grail level set, a number of 2010's chip room sales and a very odd Vegas roulette horde that almost no one knows I have Condition is terrible, but it is a venerable house mold. There might be 1,500 of these. Just the top shelf . . . .

First though, I have to figure how to get picture from my phone posted on PCF. My high-resolution camera is damaged from neglect.

One thing I can show now. This table is available for free, but you have to do local pickup. Seats 11 or 10 plus dealer. Heavy enough to require two people to pick up. You'll need a truck / cargo van or HUGE SUV. That rail is extra plushy, as good as a pillow.

Not going to post for sale stuff here as that belongs in the classified. Not happening at all till next month to see if I have seller's regrets over the PCA set.

Dibs depending on price… ;)

Any leaded sets for small/midstakes on that ol’ dusty shelf that need to go into an active cash game rotation…?
