Hey guys, first time posting, and also first time trying to design a chip. How does this look? Have I broken any unspoken rules of poker chip design lol. If there is any place you think I could improve it pls tell.

A few things:
- most importantly: take your time and don’t rush it.
- $10-denom is unnecessary
- no frac denomination?
- you really want the same spot color for every chip? I realize you’re probably going for a non flashy look but black spots all across seems a little dull and there could potentially be some dirty stack issues. It’s possible to achieve a classy look using some more contrasting colors as well.

Thank you for responding. This is very much early in the design process; most of the time has been put into the inlay. I see what you are saying about the spots, and I am working to see if I can find more interesting design choices.

Is this for a cash game or tournament? If cash, what stakes to you play?

Look at the CPC artwork requirements, particularly the amount of space required around the edge of the inlay. If your artwork goes beyond this (your broken line around the edge), it could get partially cut out when the inlays are cut.

My set's inlay has sufficient white space to allows this.

Also for this style of inlay (circle around the edge), some inlays will be cut slightly off center. Below, note more white space by the top right edge spots vs the bottom left between the other two spots. Allowing for more white space will help make this less noticeable.

Don't rush it, get samples, enough to shuffle of the molds you like the looks of, consider how colors will look on different lighting, and get feedback here.

This is exactly something I was worried about. Thank you for showing me. I will add some more space on the edge.

Also for the inlay you want to make sure your font isn't too small. Print it actual size and do an arms length test to make sure it's legible.

Look at the chip database for inspiration. With all the colours and edge spots available it seems a shame to have the same black one on all chips

Several, but the most egregious is using black nonstop for inserts and the same insert pattern. These aren't dice chips. Hope you don't have any color blind friends.

Ya, you want to vary those edge spot colors. Start with a color theory chart and then diverge from there.
