Bunkers’ Dunkers in Jefferson, IA, my wife’s hometown. The creme-filled with powdered sugar are the bomb.

I tried to order a coffee and a donut at an airport Tim Hortons on my last trip back to Canada. Sign said $1.00, but the employee tried charging me $1.07, claiming some kind of hidden fee called “GST”

Bunch of sneaky buggers those Canadian donut pedlars...

Big Foot's Little Donuts (these are technical donut shaped beignets, as the guy actually bought a beignets machine from New Orleans; also started in a food truck) [also my all time favorite; made a change]

They're the shit, but Café Beignet usually has a quarter of the wait and I would say is at least just as good. I love the coffee more than the beignets at both places though.

Anyway, my favorite donuts are from a food truck in Austin, Gourdough's. Just looking at their menu starts to give me slight heartburn, but it's just amazing, especially when they were off of 6th Street and you could get them after some barhopping. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/gourdoughs-big-fat-donuts-austin

Well, if you bought 6 (or more) of them, you wouldn't have been charged the GST.

I can’t recall the store in Min that we got for MiM but for a grocery store donut they were good.

I can’t not get like three dozen whenever I find myself in the area. Heck I even got up early one morning to take them into work for my boss when he was leaving.

National - Krispy Kreme fans will be banned from my games...the worst attempt at a donut (correct spelling) ever. River of recycled sucrose?...just fucking gross. National chain Dunkin Donuts will be king for eternity.

Regional ...I will say that the last time I was really excited about getting donuts was at Cafe’ du Monde in N’awlins For beignets & Chicory coffee...then ran across the street for some shrimp and grits.

Local Denver - I’ll get back to you, it’s likely I go to Lucille’s Creole Cafe tomorrow for their attempt at beignets plus shrimp n grits.

Cafe du Monde? Beignets? Meh. Tip: chicory doesn't make the coffee better. It was what was used when people were too cheap to use real coffee.

Peter Pan Donuts (Greenpoint, Brooklyn)
DK Diner doughnuts (Columbus, Ohio)
Doughnut Plant (NYC)
Federal Donut (Philly...added bonus: they sell donuts and fried chicken and both are mind-blowing)
Donut Pub (NYC, but just the french crullers...amazeballs)

Duck Donuts - the best!

Unfortunately, not one local to me anymore. You have to wait 5 min for them to cool down. Which of course I can’t - they can be dangerous- lol.
