Ahh, jeez! I look at the photos queued up and realize this is gonna hurt. I've spent a bunch of dollars on mostly useless stuff in the last couple weeks, so bear with me.

Starting simple, more Vegas $1s for that needless collection (approaching 350 chips total! :x).

A random future card cap only because I am not...

More anniversary chips, as those have become a bit of a rabbit-hole I've fallen into. (front and back of the same chip)

A Marlboro "branded" leather box with 100 dice chips and paper cards that I got only for the box to house the Par-a-Dice heads up set I have that doesn't have a convenient home or even easy way to transport. Thankfully the only branding was a post-card sized ad in the box. Not even a coupon, not that it would matter as I've never been a smoker (my parents both were). Also no allegiance to the brand beyond that was what my stepdad smoked.

The dividers aren't glued down or otherwise secured which is actually rather nice as I don't have to worry about them failing or constantly having to be reattached.

(proper photos to come once I have repopulated this box).

But now the extra-senseless buys:

I've had a bit of an affinity for the Thunderbird as it was one of the first casinos I started getting collectable chips from. I managed to fetch a few during the pandemic when folks were liquidating stuff at a rate I didn't recall seeing before, but kept looking even after. The dovetail 50-cent chips were always on my list, but finding matches (red-tails and green-tails) that weren't also abusively priced was a challenge. These two were from two different sellers, and a discount on one led me to push the button on the other. The stamp on the red-tail is weak over the casino name, but is fine for me, at least until my OCD forces me to find a stronger stamp.

The orange Arodie took me by surprise. One showed up in an eBay search that went through a normal auction cycle. After it ended the same seller put another one up at the price the previous one ended at in open bidding. It disappeared quickly.

Then a third. Same story.

Then a fourth. But no motion on it for a day. I attempted a search on the Chip Board about it (no joy there), but did stumble across a post where someone posted a picture of one of the previous three with no real comment. Two replies to that which were effectively "nice chip' were all that followed that. I decided "what the hell" and pushed the buy button.

It looks like it's been canceled in a way with a couple blue-foil pinwheels on the back:

...but otherwise has wear that aligns with some casino use. A bit of dirt and rounded corners and a touch of smoothed texture on the faces. It's not in the Chip Guide or the Chip Rack (or even Campiglia & Wells books) so possibly a newer discovery. Maybe I got duped? Hard to say, but I'm hoping that this is a new discovery. Regardless, a cool chip and a fun one to add to the display case (which I'm going to have to re-arrange, again, to make space for the new members of the family.

The bigger issue, this isn't everything! :wow: There are others in the mail still that might or might not arrive before I depart for my next shift at the observatory and travel for the holidays.

Enjoy the images of my useless and random spending! :ROFLMAO:
