Not sure how to list this. My friend that is selling the Roulette Wheel also has around 60,000 chips available.
His company does Demo and Cleanout. Apparently on a recent job he was asked to throw away items in a building. I think the building was owned by a casino collector in Atlantic City who passed away. He has around 60,000 chips of all variety. He literally has buckets of chips.
I think it'd be a lot easier for him to inventory everything but he wanted me to get a feeler to see if anyone has any wants. He thinks he has a lot of different chips from all types of locations.
I see Ceramics, THC, Bud Jones etc. Here are some picts of a sampling. He's not a collector but knows some of these chips have decent value.
Let me know what you're looking for and I can see what he has. You might find a deal.
I'll leave this post up for a little while as not to bother everyone. I'd personally inventory then list but he wants me to just see who's interest is out there.

Thanks

60,000? Is that a guesstimate or is that pretty close to what he actually has? Just curious, that is a large number of chips and would take up quite a bit of space.

Ummm everyone is probably interested. First obvious question is does he have any large quantities of chips from one casino or did he get mostly singles. I'm interested in racks or more of chips from the same place (playable sets!). Thanks for posting!

This is where it gets hard. I believe he has both singles and racks of chips. I knew it'd be easier to list something and sell because we'd know what he has. I guess if it's something particular that you want then I can tell him and then he'd have to sort through his chips to find out. ...and by that time buyers would move onto their next purchase. I really think he needs to find out what he has first. and by the looks of it he has chips from everywhere and with 60k chips it's likely he has it. Something you're looking for or would you like to see whats available? I might take this thread down and urge him to inventory before teasing us.

Thanks

I'd take a flier on just about any TRKs in decent condition in the lot.

And dibs on anything TRK Nevada Club/Lodge including Redfield :)

As a single chip collector, I don't see anything that sticks out as a high value chip. However, that is a small sample for 60,000 chips. Even at low value, if you could get $3 - $5 a chip you could make a lot of money. The sets should also sell for a good price.

I'm interested in
Capitol City $5 (orange)
Maxamillions (Bud Jones)
Paulson web molds, potentially

Your friend does need to realize that saying "I have 60 thousand chips, what do you need?" is pretty ridiculous. He's gonna have to put at least some effort into cataloging or categorizing these, if he has any hope of selling them for anything close to what they might be worth. I mean, someone might offer him 5 or 10 cents a chip for the whole batch, sight unseen, but anything else is going to require a lot more information, IMO.

Wow! If there really is that many and the guy was a collector, no doubt it'd be worth your friend spending a few hours each weekend working through the collection. I'm sure there's enough middle of the road chips and some rare ones to make it more than worth his time. Most important thing would be for you/him to know the going rate of each chip to make the most bang for your buck.

If there's any Paulson Pharaohs please let me know, I'd be happy to buy these up :D

Interested in Dunes chips (any denom)
Solid colored fracs (any mold)
House mold chips
Any racks of Atlantic City casino chips

Likely interested in more thank what is listed above, but this is the list I have come up with off the top of my head. Obviously an inventory/list of what he has would make this easier though

I guess part of my point is that even if I say "I'll pay $20 per chip for each chip X you have" then how is he going to know if he has any of chip X? He'd have to go through them all anyway to find out.

I know, I keep urging him to inventory everything first. It'll save everyone time even though it'll take a while for him to go through everything. By posting this Thread I feel like I poked a hornets nest. lol

I'd agree, either commit to spending hundreds of hours sorting and cataloging or selling them to someone who is willing but likely for pennies on the dollar. Maybe a good middle ground would be to have a chipper friend comb through them for an hour or two and pick out the most valuable ones and then he could search through the rest for those ones and sell the others bulk?

Agreed. Why go through 60k worth of chips only to go through it again looking for a different chip(s) for someone else.

Ok, I see there's a ton of interest. and by looking at the responses and PMs I'm going to see what he has so far. I just wanted to see if there was interest and it's kind of ridiculous that he wants to sell "blind" as for him not knowing what he has and qty. I'm going to close this thread down for now as sold. Until I can get a better grasp of what hes going to do for inventory. It'll be A LOT easier for our forum.

Thanks for the interest so far. and I'll get back to the ones that posted or emailed already.
And hopefully can get him to resolve the FOR SALE items.
