How do you get these clean?! Ran a rack of chips through an OxiClean bath twice and hit the chips with an electric scrubber and some residue still remains. Would an ultrasonic get these clean?

Toothpick
Oops knew I forgot something. I tried using a dental pick to get the stuff out. Some grime came out but there was still some residue. I did notice the dental pick would bend, guessing a wood toothpick would probably be better?

Yup. Something sharp. But as I’ve been cleaning casino used arc yellow I’ve come to accept that some colors just aren’t going to come perfectly clean.

Dang alright, I kinda figured it's some kinda staining that'll just stick around. I actually tried using a xacto knife to try and get some of the dirt out and there was still some residue.

I don’t want to discourage you. But personally I’ve given up. I’m sure there are some chemicals that might help too, but I’d rather live with a little dirt and all the real color, than risk fading for a perfectly clean chip.

Funny you mention that... two of the chips posted in the OP are really really bleached because I found them at the bottom of the bowl of oxi when I went to throw it out lol. I'm probably going to just abandon the idea of getting these to 100% clean. Thanks for giving me peace of mind on the clean thing.

Expert tip I got from @Ben8257 is to hit both sides of each chip with a nail brush or toothbrush as soon as it comes out of whatever ultrasonic/oxi/soap water bath you’re using, while the chip is still wet. Here’s my results with that method.

Your outer rings are so much cleaner! How??? I thought that's how I was supposed clean them so that's exactly what I did. Just grabbed a hand full and scrubbed em while they were still wet. Maybe I need to use more OxiClean lol

Wooden toothpick always worked perfectly for me. If you apply some pressure into the grove the tip of the toothpick expands into the individual wood fibres and then you just do one circle around the chip. Everything black and disgusting just pops out.
One toothpick usually lasts me for a barrel or so until it gets too blunt.

On a different note: Anybody has canary solid hot stamps in this exact or similar condition for sale?
I'd like to get them re-hotstamped as a frac for my old school flamingo set.

I think if you use metal you could potentially damage the chip.
Yes I damaged one, so don’t recommend at all.
I used a sewing needle.
Did you clean them without damaging? I risked some and ending up leaving scratches.

What I tried is have tons of tooth picks and throw away them once their tips are bent. Apply a few drops of water on the rim. It works pretty good, always keep the tip sharp and works good. No damage on chips

That’s very good, for me 2-3 chips.

I didn't do any damage. I didn't "dig", more a gentle push, and any stubborn dirt basically flew right out in tiny straps. This was also after ultrasonic cleaning, but those chips were truly filthy. Didn't have to do it a lot.

Just cleaned it today and found it hard to get the dirt out with a toothbrush.
Thanks for the useful information!
