I have never seen anyone post a set of Terrible's MT primaries. I have a playable set but the low denoms are well used. Was there a shortage of these chips or were the bulk of the .50s, 1s, & 5s so beat that no chippers wanted them. I bought most of these on eBay before I discovered this place. It also seems that MT secondaries are very hard to find. Does anyone have the history of these chips? Numbers?

I decided to go with Mark Twain Primary $5s for my main Terrible's set, all the other denoms are St Jo Primaries. I got 5 racks of those red birds from Jim absolutely mint. The St Jo denoms are also mint and were more plentiful if I remember correctly, minus the $25s. I don't remember having seen a ton of those $5s mint but Spike had some, Lars had them, BG had them etc... A lot more beat up racks are out there thou... Don't know the exact quantities Jim had at that time... The other MT denoms mint were even scarcer if I remember correctly..

I like playing with my beat up MT 1s and 5s. Everything else is near mint and a few racks of 25s I think are uncirculated (haven't seen play yet at my house). I am trying to decide if I should keep trying to find MT secondaries or give up and sell the 1s and 100s I have in July.

The MT secondary $1 chip is the nicest IMO. (Followed by the STJ secondary $1)

Mmmmm. Personally I love the St Jo primary $5. Looks fawesome in stacks. The St Jo primary $500 is a thing of beauty and the MT secondary $5 looks great in person too.

I also remember in the very early days of PCF, Tommy had posted the amounts of one of the Terrible's sets. The info came directly from Jim@the chip room. Is that still posted anywhere @Tommy?

Yeah, it's posted somewhere. The numbers were close.

That is interesting. If the numbers are accurate, there are only about 400 primary 1s I don't own. Seems impossible.

You have 24 racks of SJ primary $1's ?!?!?

That's what the spreadsheet says. Pics in July. Sometimes you have to buy 5 racks of 1s to get something else you want. I'll be selling some of the 1s and other extras this summer

I was lucky and managed to get a decent set of Lagrange secondaries togheter last year from 7-8 different sellers. Not been able to add to it the last 6 months, even though I have spent a lot of time searching. Missed out on the $100's that have been sale here a few times this year unfortunatly.

I'm guessing quite a few people redeemed 1s and 5s after that letter was written with quantities.
Perhaps. 1700 of mine are mint though.

Also 3 racks of lightly used $25 chips. I need to update gallery.

I had to mix and match my terribles set from different places to get them all mint. Its a small sacrifice to make sure they are all mint and all the colors I want.

I traded someone 2 racks of mint GVs for 2 racks of mint terrible 5s that I have now . Love em

Only a single rack of secondary 500s? What did Jim sell those for originally?

I have 510 new St Jo Prim $1s

If at some point you don't 'love em' anymore Spike, I'll be more than happy to love em here! Always looking for more mint MT Prim $5s...

Those numbers in the letter are way off and don't offer any answers to my question about MT 1s. Does anyone own a rack of those new?

Picking them separately and disregarding how they would work together, here are my picks: 50¢s - SJ Prims but if the MT Prims were hot pink they would be the pick, $1s - tough between the two Secs, but I'll have to go with the MT, $5s - MT Secs followed closely by the MT Prims, $25s - SJ Prims, $100 - SJ Prims, $500s - SJ Prims... So 4 SJ Prims, 2 MT Secs for me, but the 2 MT Secs would be the workhorses...

I wish the inlays weren't different colors. I have a hard time mixing primaries and secondaries but if the inlays were identical my favorites are easy

.50 - STJ 2nd
1 - MT 2nd
5 - STJ 2nd
25 - STJ Prim
100 - MT 2nd
500 - STJ Prim

Still want to see a rack of new MT 1s.

If it's just a pic you wanna see, Jim had some pics on CT before he started the sale of those... He posted all racks and asked people to guess which chips he'd sell next... I couldn't find them this morning though...

Yes i wish the inlay colors were the exact same. I don't think most my guests notice the shading difference to be honest.
Question though...
How much would mixing primaries and secondaries bring down the resale value if all mint? Or near mint? (Not that I intend to sell! Just curious)

When TCR released the Terrible's chips, I only purchased (mint/near-mint) chips with color/spot combos that I really liked. I didn't really care if the casino name or inlay shades didn't match, because if it bugged me too much, I figured I could just relabel all of 'em to something I really DID like.

Mixing didn't seem to hurt the resell value any when I unloaded them all a few months ago. Chippers gonna chip.
