And maybe they r great. Not many flea bites bc their lead. Just a good round edge from being shuffled. By no means bicycles.

I certainly think so. The Clay formula seems to hold and bind together better. That’s why I feel like the older chips get buttery smooth I could be completely misinformed or misguided. @allforcharity ? @JeepologyOffroad ?

I have no empiric evidence to suggest that older leaded chips are any more or less prone to flea bites than newer unleaded chips if they are all THC.

Anecdotally, I think color can be a factor, as much as anything. Some colors seem to be more prone. That said, I think it can be dependent on many factors up to and including “batch” quality, usage/abuse, etc.

The majority of my collection is THC leaded and have very few flea bites, but not sure I can attribute that solely to being leaded.

I'll just say that it didn't look like any leaded chips broke when coming back from WAB, whereas a minty Tiger seemed to... just sayin' lol

That’s an extremely poor correlation.

I think it’s just NAGB chips are dead dead mint. The extremely dead mint old school chips I’ve had flea bite just the same or maybe even worse imo. But it’s probably just anecdotal. I’d wager it’s color related. LCO 1s for example. One of the spot colors almost always flea bites iirc.

But one things for sure, both new and old THC seem to wear beautifully.

yeah I know, I have no idea… but from what I’ve seen (which isn’t very much) the broken chips in transport are typically unleaded but that’s like china clays where you can break them in half easily with your fingers like that hobbyphilic guy from YouTube. I wouldn’t want to try to break a pretty Paulson like a Tiger but maybe it would be worth trying with the one that already got damaged?

Again, don’t think this is correct at all tbh. Without question the breakage of my chip was due to packing poorly at 4am on the tail end of a sleepless and bourbon filled meetup.
