I'm hosting a home poker tournament for the first time and I just bought a 500 piece set of outlaws. The denominations and quantities are: 150 White ($1), 150 Red ($5), 100 Green ($25), 50 Blue ($50), 50 Black ($100). I was curios if someone could offer advice on a good starting stack with 10 people and the denominations and quantities above. I was also hoping some one could point me in the right direction to a good blid structure with these chips if want a 2-3 hour game.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome! As a rule of thumb, the tournament will end when there are 20 big blinds on the table. You can adjust the length of a tourney by adjusting starting stack sizes, blind increases, or level duration.

For a 3 hour tourney, I'd suggest starting stacks of T200:
$1 x 15
$5 x 12
$25 x 5

Blind levels of 15 minutes:
1/2
2/4
3/6 (remove 1's)
5/10
5/15
10/20
15/30 (remove 5's)
25/50
25/75
50/100 *should end here 2.5 hrs plus breaks
75/150
100/200

Increasing blind levels to 20 minutes would add almost an hour. Get a free poker timer for your iPad.

Would there be a reason I wouldn't want to do antes. Also would allow for rebuys?

I don’t do antes for my game because it’s a PITA collecting from each player every hand.

I usually allow for rebuys through the first 3 or 4 levels. A rebuy at level 4 is only getting 20 big blinds. A few rebuys won’t significantly change the length of the tourney
