Hi,
I am still trying to downsize my sets and would like to sell my remaining St. Jo's before May. I consider to auction them as a set, or by rack with the option to buy a second or third rack if available. The current breakdown is:
  • 200 x $1
  • 300 x $5
  • 200 x $25
  • 100 x $100
Regarding to the set auction I had a look at the latest cash set sales and it looks like my set has too many 25's and 100's?!
What do you think about this breakdown:
  • 200 x $1
  • 300 x $5
  • 80 x $25
  • 20 x $100
Thanks for your help!

Sebastian

Is $5700 bank enough for your game? Is $16,700 too much? It depends on your game. The big set might be perfect for a splashy 2/5 game. The small set is probably too big for a tight 1/1 game.

The full set is about perfect for most cash games that don’t use fracs, eg. $1/1, 1/2, 1/3, 2/5. You could probably split off 100 $25s and 40-60 $100s and still have a decent set. Since this isn’t a sale thread, I would politely comment that it could be the price or the crack prevalent in these chips that is the reason they’re not selling even with a great breakdown. That being said I love the St. Jo and think they’re an excellent set.

Thank you. I really appreciate your feedback.

There aren’t that many people here that only play $1/1 or higher in their cash games so your set is already has a limited number of buyers. Then it a little light on $5’s, most of us that play $1/2+ want 4+ racks of $5’s. The most valuable part of the set is the $100’s but very few people here need a full rack for their cash game.

If you want to target the broadest group list the following as an auction with a low starting price. You will find out what they are really worth then, but it may end up being less than you think.

$1 chip x 200
$5 chip x 300
$25 chip x 100
$100 chip x 20

Then offer the extra chips to the auction winner or sell them off separately. The high denomination chips would make good options for some mixed sets.

That sounds reasonable. I posted them with this breakdown:
