Hi,
I consider to split a 900 chip set into two sets to sell them later by auction. Current breakdown is:
  • 100 x 0,5
  • 200 x 1
  • 300 x 5
  • 200 x 25
  • 100 x 100
To me it makes sense to build a lower and a higher cash game set instead of splitting them into identical breakdowns?!

Set 1:
  • 100 x 0,5
  • 100 x 1
  • 120 x 5
  • 60 x 25
  • 20 x 100
Set 2:
  • 100 x 1
  • 180 x 5
  • 140 x 25
  • 80 x 100
I am not sure if there is a standard breakdown for cash sets of 400-500 chips. Maybe you can help me out.

Thanks in advance,

Sebastian

Which set are you selling? I think you'll have a hard time selling set 2. 100 x 1 wouldn't work for me. I guess maybe it could be used for a 1/1 game? Even then I don't think its enough.

What about selling by the rack?

I would keep as a set of 900. It makes for 1 complete set. Can try as a normal sale first for a few weeks, if no takers then try selling by the rack or auction.

I think the 900 chip breakdown is good as is, and certainly not enough lower denoms to split it into two.

Yeah, I agree, the low number of ones especially makes this a tough split to me.

I would keep the set as is, I think most PCFers prefer sets of 800-1000 anyway unless they are budget constrained.

I just don't see a good split here. If you had some 500s there could be a way to get a base T5 tournament set. But honestly, I would just sell it as is.

Talking about my St. Jo's set.

Think you are right.

Another way to really sell your chips is get some great chip pr0n photos in there. If you want some examples check out @Changster ’s photos. He’s a master at making the shots look amazing. Great lighting, angles, etc.

We can’t touch your chips remotely, so your photos count for a lot. Create the lust.
