I've seen some of the CPC chips hit the classified ads since joining here, but not as often as the other casino used Paulson chips.

Would be looking for a small set (smaller the better) to use as a travel set. I'm not really picky on the breakdown due to the low volume of chips I'm requesting. I'm also not picky with the types of edge patterns and inlays as I think they are all beautiful!

Was wondering if anyone had a set that they might be willing to part with that is in good to like new condition. Let me know!

Key West !

Great CPC chips, forum discount & great owner @dennis63
AND now they offer pre-owned chips at discount prices !

clicky link :)

For $125/rack (pre-owned) you will not find a better deal without the hassle of milling, relabels, multiple buyers, shipping cost, ...

Oh man, those are nice! What's the story with the Key West chips? Are they a CPC fantasy offshoot like thr Atlantic collection is, for example?

Don't like that they only seem to have tournament denominations in their used section as of now, though.
Maybe. No edge spots, but a very good priced hot stamp cash game set.

Probably a bit too large of a set that I'll need. Nice chips though!

See, I would see it as too large, I'd see it as adaptable with the non-denom Browns. You could carry the 1-25s and stock the browns for if you needed less or more chips.

See. I'm a salesman.

Good luck dude!

These are sweeeet !
I dare to call myself a veteran chipper....have multiple paulson sets but also own 1600 of the Key West chips and I LOVE them (so do my players).
They are an official sponsor & vendor at this forum

more info: another clicky link :)

New chips (with forum discount) are $1.69 per chip (all denoms in stock for shipping)
If you opt for blue $1 chips...these are live chips and only cost $1 per chip ($100/rack) AND are redeemable

What's not to like :)
Order a sample set before you buy the main purchase...you can always save up after initial buy and add to you set.
Always available and no color issues with reorders.
He also sells solid Key West chips (non denom) $1.32/chip

Those $1 blues are sexy!

After seeing their fracs, I'm definitely going bankrupt!

What game & stakes do you play ?
There is a sub forum dedicated to get you the best break-down possible (best bang for the buck so to speak).
We have some very knowledgeable members....feel free to ask around...i'm sure you'll get the info you need.

And welcome to the forum !

Some advice:
- limit your credit cards
- do not...i repeat DO NOT order or buy Paulson casino or TRK chips
- initiate your wife to the life of living with a chip-a-holic
- you will know the first name of your mail man, all the details and his shoe size with 4 weeks ;)

Curious as to why Paulson casino used chips are a no go for you? Is it because the edges are generally very worn and the chips overall are dirty for the most part?

My friends and I mostly play 10/20 cent blinds with unlimited $10 or $20 buy ins. Very rarely am I able to get a 25/50 cent game going woth a $40 or $50 buy in. That being said, a 300 chip cash set is a bit tricky with how many fracs that would be necessary to cover re-buys.

Was thinking

100 nickels (or 5's to future proof the set)
150 quarters (or 25's to future proof)
50 $1's

That shouldn't be a problem for a $10 buy in game woth 4 or 5 people the most. What are your thoughts?

He's making a joke...its because casino Paulsons are the gateway drug to owning 20k chips... speaking from experience.

I had some keywests at one point in time... great set. I think that set went to @detroitdad. I think it later went elsewhere.

I would suggest this

Play .25/.25 games....$25 buy-in

First round of buy-ins are:
20 x $0.25
20 x $1

All rebuys in $1 & $5 chips

You would need (chipcount for full table, half should be good for you)

200 0.25
200 1
100 5

or go with 8 blind chips and 100/200/50 if you want to add on after saving up some more.

Key West chips are made on the H mold. The mold was created in the early 1900s, and used to make lots of "illegals" for speakeasies, mob casinos, social clubs, etc. It was also used to create lots of chips for the first casinos of Las Vegas. There's a long list of casinos on the Strip that had H mold chips. In the early 1980s, the mold got shelved and was not in use for more than 20 years.

In 2004, Atlantic Standard Molding dusted off the mold and put it back into production. Josh Shore of Apache Poker Chips worked with J5 Design and others to create the Key West logo and came up with a chip that looked and felt exactly like a chip you'd find on a Las Vegas table in the 1960s. They called it "Key West" because there was no Key West casino anywhere in the world at that time. Officially, Key West is a "fantasy"casino -- one that never existed.

I bought a set of Key Wests in 2007. When I tried to buy more, Josh told me they were running low, and were about to kill off the Key West design. We agreed that he would sell me the design, and I could use it to make chips with ASM, still on the same mold -- two plates, 25 chip impressions on each -- that was used to make pre-Las Vegas illegals for the mob, and Vegas chips that Frank, Dean and Sammy would recognize from the Sands and other Vegas hot spots (maybe also for the mob, but you didn't hear that from me.)

We added some denominations, made about 5,000 decks of Key West cards, a bunch of dealer buttons, and other stuff, to go with the chips. In all, we've sold about 35,000 Key West chips to about 350 people in the United States and 24 other countries.

Dang what a sweet story. Definitely gonna be looking at key west down the road.

Go on...

I’ll pm you details when I get home tonight or in the morning along with pics. I’ve really enjoyed them but I’m planning to move on to semi custom paulsons.

Alright folks,@Thomacetti you twisted my arm into really liking the Key Wests :).

I'm in touch with Dennis about starting off my set, but does anyone have any that they're willing to part with?

You are in good hands....please post pr0n after delivery :)
My Horseshoe Cincy cash set is my next project. Can't wait to give those babies some cleaning to make them look new again! Will post prOn of that first, likely.

Whereas with the Key Wests, those will come in looking nice off the bat. Just a little bit of oil on the edges and they'll be set :)

I bought a Majestic set just after joining and acquired a 1000 chip mixed Horseshoe Cincy based set since joining. Now looking at buying a "nice" like new to new CPC set.

The chip addiction is real  :ROFLMAO::jawdrop:

Once the Key West set is completed that's going to be it for a long time...I think. You'll likely find me on the strategy forum after that!
