Hello!

Just to preface, I'm a total rookie. Just got into the hobby.
I recently purchased my first set of 400 chips from Amazon. Link and photo below (not my photo, but the same chips).
I want to host 8 player poker games, but this set just barely has enough for 7 people (with barely enough left over for extra re-ups, unless I just give all black chips)
I'm currently doing a $5 buy-in .05/.05 blinds but would like to expand the blinds and buy-in as we play more games in the future.
I'd like to be able to play cash games primarily, but with the occasional tournament too
I want to just buy more 5's and 25's, but I can't find anywhere that sells them separately.
Do I just buy a whole extra set? Or should I just try to sell these and then buy a bigger set of chips?
Let me know what you guys think!

Chip denominations and amount
1s - 100
5s - 150
25s - 100
100s - 50

They look like they're in the pricerange of card molds china "clays" which is bound to be better than these and you can cherry pick design and denoms. Look in the group buy section.

Welcome! Thanks for being so clear with your question. Personally I'm not a chip snob, but I would advise not buying more of these. Like you said, the breakdown is not what you're looking for and for similar money you could get some ceramics at a better breakdown; I doubt they'll be as cheap as $0.22/chip, but not too much more expensive and you can get some sweet designs and whatever breakdown you want.

Do what makes you happy, but look up cards mold or textured no mold chips on here before spending anything further on these. I don't like the idea of buying a whole 'nother set of the same chips to cover the 5s and 25s.

Have fun.

Since you already spent the money - I would suggest just reaching out to the seller on Amazon and asking if they will sell you individual chips and if so, what the minimum quantity would be. You could probably use some more 5 (.05) and 25 (.25) chips.

With what you have, you could use starting stacks of:
18 x 5 (.05) = .90
10 x .1 (01) = .10
12 x 25 (.25) = 3.00
01 x 100 (1.00) =1.00

Then just use 100's (1.00) for rebuys.

PS: if you decide to raise the stakes of your game, you will probably be ready to follow the advice in the post right above this one! ;)

Thanks for the input guys! I didn't mention it, but y'all confirmed my suspicions that these were dog s**t, haha
I think I'm going to just buy a different, higher-quality set. I'll use the denominations that @jazzV3 suggested until I pick out a set, thanks for that!
Going to try to find some that are in the range of .20-.50 a chip. I'll dig through the group buys and see what I can find.
I'm also looking at the Casino Royale chips on Apache, but I have a feeling they're basically a reskin of the type of chip I have already.
And man, yeah I'm going to look into molds too, that's a completely new concept to me. I had no idea poker chips were so complicated, lmao.
