Is it really downsizing? Financial problems? A divorce? Or just recovery from a bad interior decorator?

Near Raleigh, NC this weekend? Have plans? Change them! We are moving and downsizing, so estate sale time. Lots of poker memorabilia, fossils, as well as furniture and decorator items. I'll be there to say hi and sign autographs/take pics. details: https://www.steveminorestatesales.com/Upcoming-Sales

I jumped out of my chair when I saw this the other day . . . but then, yeah, turns out he spent a lot of money, none of it on poker chips.

Could be moving and not wanting to pack all that shit up. I know I will be selling off a bunch of stuff when I move again.

It makes me cringe to think of what some of that “art” must have cost.

In the name of everything sensible and holy, that is downright hideous!

Chihuly also did a ceiling at a closed restaurant near me. Tried to get the piece on the cheap, but they wanted $5k.

He is definitely shoring up his cash position. How's his poker results been lately?

I believe most of these pieces are from the "what a woman who lives in a trailer park and wears leopard print exclusively would decorate her house with if she ever won the lottery because this is what she thinks classy is" collection

Hopefully he has a nice set of chips somewhere, even if he isn't selling it here.

Have some respect for your craft, man!

Wow...so many hideous things... :wtf:

Chihuly, not Chiluly. We have one of his pieces in the Orlando Museum of Art.

Ok, I feel better now.

Raymer always came across as very intelligent. I doubt hes hurting for money.

The Chihuly piece is not my favorite thing, aesthetically, but looks “nice” all the same.

That landing, though.

The full description indicates his daughter is a senior in college and he's started a small practice in patent law. Seems like legit empty-nest downsizing... next phase in life sorta stuff. I wouldn't read too much into it.

Well, he's been a patent attorney since well before he had any poker success. With Pfizer, wasn't it? And he's still registered at the US Patent Office, so all he has to do to start a practice is to accept a client.

I guess it all depends on how much time he wants to put into patent law vs. playing and running his poker schools...

My Brother in Law has a couple pieces of Chihluly glass sculptures in his Florida home.

Always freaked me out with the kids. My kids automatically broke whatever the most expensive breakable thing they found in a room when they were little. Like a law of physics...the most expensive thing had a gravity well that drew them in.
