Just a heads up that these are not leaded chips. They are weighted with some sort of flake (same with the $100s) but they're not leaded.
Issued 1998. Semi-leaded at minimum IMO. Felt like it when I had $100s.Just a heads up that these are not leaded chips. They are weighted with some sort of flake (same with the $100s) but they're not leaded.
I'm not sure where it is here but there was a whole thread about this a while back. They're aluminum flakes. Both the $25s and the $100s. They definitely feel heavy, sure.Issued 1998. Semi-leaded at minimum IMO. Felt like it when I had $100s.

Hard to know for sure I guess. I mostly go by feel as unleaded is very easy to distinguish and this era of Sterling definitely don't feel like today's unleaded chips.1998-2002:
Paul-Son starts systematically removing lead content from chip material formulas for all colors. Most were converted by 2002 except for five colors; all were relatively lead-free by 2005. Shaped inlays also started disappearing during this time, and glossy inlay laminates were first introduced (presumably to facilitate new security features).
Just my opinion, but I suspect these are leaded/weighted.Just a heads up that these are not leaded chips. They are weighted with some sort of flake (same with the $100s) but they're not leaded.

Well great news, I just sent one of the Sterling Cruises $25s along for testing at my lab. It'll join one of these T25s for comparison and funsies - I'll be sure to report back and we'll know for sure.Just my opinion, but I suspect these are leaded/weighted.
Aluminum flakes were added by Paulson for security, not weight.
This is awesome!
Even better, you can now put Skeletor in your mouth without fear of cancer.@Josh Kifer the Skeletor chips are NOT leaded?![]()
Awesome stuff. Can you provide more info on how exactly the test was carried out?
I don't add lead. I add asbestos.....@Josh Kifer the Skeletor chips are NOT leaded?![]()
Sure? I took the swabs, swabbed the chips, laid down the swabs and took a picture.Awesome stuff. Can you provide more info on how exactly the test was carried out?

Cool. I was wondering if it’s really that simple. Amazed no one here has done this beforeSure? I took the swabs, swabbed the chips, laid down the swabs and took a picture.
Same. There are certainly more advanced methods that exist but this was very simple. I believe you can buy these kits for relatively low cost but I got mine for free from a friend that uses them at work.Cool. I was wondering if it’s really that simple. Amazed no one here has done this before
