Not sure if I want a nickel and a quarter. Open to either at this point. What do you prefer and why?

You need a way to use those $2s!! They look so nice. I say relabel those as quarters and you're good to go

sorry, but I hate the concept of using another denom from the set to make a new denom, keep the 2's and find something else

I love my relabeled $2 as a non-denom quarter. I’m likely going to add another chip as a lower denomination (nickel/dime). We have the same $100 (kash) - so I’m obligated to tell you that your set looks perfect and all contrary opinions are wrong!

I vote B - keep/relabel the SY$2 as a quarter and do whatever you like for a nickel.

I love $2 chips! Some groups say no way!! Not using that!! But my buddy Kevin AKA @Seeking Alpha Social Club has given me inspiration to say... if you want to play them... playem!!

My Ysabels are staying $2... there are enough pink chips out there that go really well with this pastel line up!

We have talked about it a few times as far as edge spot progression not the best but they are very light on these chips anyways

Those pinks will be quarters...

I also really liked the ide of the Green Valley Ranch $1... they are cheap (I think spinettis still has some) simple edge spot, and the blue mat hes the Ysabel $1

Brie sold all of hers, but I was thinking that would have been the perfect $.50 for when we play $.50/$1.

Gotta get this project finished Kev, just RHCs but really nice chip colors. We will have to felt them sometime down the road. Especially if I can figure out a $.50 chip!

The double quarter thing works, but kind of annoying. Would rather just make the chips we need!

Wish I did a splash shot with those Green Valley Ranch chips @Ethan ... I know it may seem weird but they really may h the set well, and stand out as the frac without taking attention away from your show chips!

Just something to consider... and maybe it will help save the $2 chips lives!! Lol

That’s a great idea, @Ben8257 . Thanks for the encouragement. I may look around a little while before rushing into making the decision.

And a great saying, @Seeking Alpha Social Club !

At risk of derailing my thread, I can’t stop thinking about these chips lined up. (Beware, it may be controversial with so much shared color!)

The Purple $500 HSI chip is primarily purple and 1/8" edge spots... I think they would play well together! Would have to see the faces though!

Could you take a racked photo of those HSI1a $1s with SY$2 and SY$1? That would be a HUGE help for me figuring out if they’ll work!

Either you need fracs or you don't.

If you don't, the $2 chip stays as such and plays as such.

If you do need fracs, the $2 is a perfect candidate, coming from the same family.

In order to not shock purists(?), and for greater flexibility, make them ND Santa Ysabels to play as either quarters or halves or even $2 in bigger games. :D

Ysabels can be relabeled without murder, right?

An inlaminated over label on the minty $2s shouldn’t be a problem. May have an issue with spinners casino used - very good condition chips. The 1s - 25s are around the good to very good range, depending on which ones were bought.

That's what I thought. The non-laminated labels would match original ones pretty well, right? (I don't have any in my hands to check :/ )

@Gear works wonders. Unlaminated labels will see wear fairly quickly, though. In my experience they can scratch over time if your players are not careful.

But still worth it IMO for chips you’re not willing to put under the knife!

I just bought two racks of the HSI 1a $1s. I got two so that I can do any of the following depending on the night:
  • Use my 200 HSI$1s as "nickels" and 100 SY$2 for "quarters." I think newbies and limpers will like having lots of nickels
  • Use the SY$2s as "nickels" and the HSI$1s as "quarters" with a more experienced group that limps less and raises more, quarters are more the workhorse here
  • Use HSI$1s as "quarters" and the 100 SY$2s as $20 FOR .25/.50 and above CASH GAMES. I LOVE THIS IDEA I CAN'T BELIEVE I HADN'T THOUGHT OF IT BEFORE!
