Sands Casino Poker Chips Rat Pack Sinatra Las Vegas 1952-1996 Value/Appraisal (2 Viewers)

Alright. You caught us trying to get you to lower your price so we could snatch up the deal of the century.
You will undoubtedly cancel any bids on your sale now you know they are actually worth 10's of thousands of dollars as a set.
Our loss is your gain.

Ps. Add some pictures of the rat pack to your set with some cards and dice and go for broke....say $100,000!

GLWS!

Don't give up our secrets dude!

My guess is this dude bought these Chips outside of a home depot from some shady bloke's boot. For a fairly handsome sum, I'd imagine. The truth hurts after being taken for a couple grand...

This thread was so entertaining. Thank you random internet troll for a fun 20 mins on a Saturday.

We'll all enjoy watching you pay fees for the rest of your life to keep that pile of overpriced plastic trash listed on eBay forever.

Around 2002 these were being sold at Gamblers General store for around $1 each. Dunes, Thunderbird, and Silver Slipper were available too. I probably sold 100,000 of them.

I would be happy to pick up a nice 500 chip set for $500. At that price i might even be overpaying.

These chips are clearly not appealing to this Forum or even Chip Collectors.

Why? - Cheap Quality & Commemorative chip that was never used in the casino and was manufactured well after the Sands closed.

I do believe there is a market for these chips and you can get some value out of these chips.

How? - eBay, I would suggest you remove your current listing and sell as sample sets ( 1 of each chip )
I personally would ask 10.00 for each sample set (set of 4 chips).

pro: This would be the only option I can think of to get anywhere near the price you might have wanted.

con: Its going to take a really long time to sell out

I think if you sold 3 sample sets per a month that is really good, so 3 years to sell most of your inventory

I have a set of these. They were made by RT plastics. Think they sold them through the Gamblers General Store in Vegas as stock poker chips (like Bugsy's Hideaway or Capone's , etc). I think they sold for like .79 each or something. I like them better thank just plain dice or generic chips. As far as value, I would value a set of 700 chips is somewhere between $75-$150. you can probably sell singles for $1-2 bucks each. Good luck.

I found this set of 700x Sands Casino Poker Chips Rat Pack Sinatra Las Vegas 1952-1996 at a Estate Sale. Can somebody give me an idea of what the set might be worth? The set looks new.

200x $1s, 100x $5s, 200x $25s, 200x $100s

Sir: As you say, "The set looks new." That's because it is new, and isn't from the 1950s or 60s.

You asked for a value, and were given an honest answer, albeit one you don't like. We're all sorry you don't have a set of 700 real Sands casino chips from the 1950s or 1960s. They'd be Burt Company "H" mold chips (1950s), T.R. Kings (1960s) or maybe Paulsons (1966 or 67 and later).

The first person to find your post here would have sold a kidney to buy them from you at nearly any price.

If you offer the chips you have as "real," you'd be committing fraud. No one here would ever buy them, but you might get a visit some night from three ghosts -- Frank, Dean and Sammy.

Sorry to be joining this thread so late. It seems that Gecko45 has moved on from mall security and into the world of poker chip collecting!*

In all seriousness though hopefully this is just coincidence but in the last two weeks we've had at least two new members join, ask for advice/assistance and then go cock bag all over the longstanding members who offer a sincere and well considered response.

* If you don't know the saga of Gecko45 I highly recommend Googling it. Just his name alone is enough to point you in the right direction.

I run a security department, and every time I read that it makes me disappointed in the people who ruin it for the hard workers. I get them once and a while trying to find jobs.... No.... No no no.

Well, that's 40 minutes of my life I'm not getting back. But it was entertaining.

Lol...good reads..

Gecko45, if you read this please accept my sincere apology. There is simply no way possible for me or this community to have known you are Chuck Norris.

lol, I remember reading that saga several years ago. One of my favorite gecko45 quotes, spouting the life-threatening dangers of his job:

"unlike you I have to face unruly shoppers every day."

I bet he also gets tens of emails a day.

Like Apache points out, these used to be available from Gamblers General Store in the early 2000’s. I bought many of them. I used to make a Rat Pack commemorative shadow box frame with a postcard, matchbook and a Sands card. Sold a bunch on eBay back then. My understanding (from a clerk at GGS) is that they didn’t have the rights to the likeness of the casinos, so no more were made. They used to sell for 40c or so each back then. Not surprised that there is some value around $1 per chip... but not likely much more.
