For a tourney set, do you prefer the spot style to be the same on all the chips or do you prefer that each denom have different spot styles?

I’m fine with either but I always design tournament mock ups with the same spot pattern and voted that way

I like simple, consistent spots on tourney sets, or solids.

For cash, go crazy!

I prefer different spots most of the time. It makes telling what chips are in pots and stacks easier.

Though some of the monochromatic same spot sets like the Bubs set are incredible!

Not exactly spot progression, but I mocked this up, inspired by @Chbyfngr's One Out set. I love the oversized big denoms, with 4 spots rather than 3.

Heh.... I'm a "yes/no" on same spot style.

Generally I like the same spot style (though not color) on all tourney chips; however, I'm not against a more elaborate style for maximum/color-up chips.

Here's my current design for a small 10-man cpc tourney hotstamp set I may do:

250200

Denoms would be 25, 100, 500, 2000.

I prefer different spot styles on tournament chips. I think it helps with telling the different denominations apart.

I want to say spot progression but then I look at the Olivia’s tourney set and I go back to same spots.

I can’t vote lol

I had the exact same thoughts, including the Bubbs set :)

Either can look nice...it's whatever you like.

Everytime I mock something up for a tourney set they end up on the same spot pattern.

When doing plastics, you can have progressive spots with the same style. For example the Matsui cc600 series.
This is what I would prefer.

I like both. Right now my tourney set breakdown is;
2 x solids
4 x different spots
1 x same spot

However, I’ve always been very attracted to same spot sets (Olivia’s, Stardust Mansion, AS hotstamps). I could see adding another same spot set to the rotation sometime.

Personally I like having spot progression. There are so many different spot patterns out there why limit yourself to one!?

Does anybody have any insight as to WHY they would prefer having the same spot pattern?

I get that there is some great sets out there that have the same pattern, but that doesn't mean that they still wouldn't be great if their patterns were different.
