Honestly, don't be afraid to pull the trigger on the Royals. I ordered 1000 Royals without waiting for samples (had to act quickly to get a special discount from Apache), and absolutely loved them so much that I've ordered more to expand the set. Sure, they're not Paulsons, but they are way nicer and way less slippery than Majestics, Dunes CC, Pharaoh CC, etc. IMO. (I do have samples of each of the above). Great colors, they stack very well, and the 43mm is very nice for a tourney set.

Just be aware that some chips are currently out of stock at Apache (labelled and unlabelled pink $100,000, labelled blue $25,000, unlabelled grey, maybe some others, restock expected early May), so it may take a bit of time to complete your set.

Agree they look nice but I’m agonizing over the CC chips and the Dia de los Muertos, NJ skulls/saloon, and the Tiki kings. I want to get the look and feel before I buy a set.

Good plan! Ceramics look and feel a lot different than CC's of any flavor. I have samples of DDLM and Tiki as well, and wasn't overwhelmed, but everybody likes different things (thankfully), so samples are definitely the way to go. Good luck in your chipping adventure!

I'm in the same boat. Got all the ceramic samples from brpro & waiting now on about 6 more samples from apache including majestic and royals . I'll hopefully be able to decide on one once I get the last batch in.
