Next time, instead of post pm someone in the area and they can nab for you. It's a great deal at .15 a chip.

If you don't want it, pm a friend and they'll handle it. Otherwise at best someone grabs it quickly and might pm you "thank you", at worst several people reach out with some of them trying to ruin the deal for all and encourage them to list for a ridiculous number and then they think they're worth $3 a chip and it all goes sideways.

Shouldn’t the original seller know what they’re worth? Doesn’t seem too great to try and pull a fast one on them just so someone else on the forum can make a huge profit.

I figure they've been up since Saturday so that's plenty of time for people to make their moves (and no doubt they have).
If nothing else this is good for market transparency. If I post this thread after these hit PCF, it would be considered thread crapping. I guess we'll see how big a financial error I made when these hit the classifieds.
I also figured that since I had no use for them and wouldn't be interested in making a country-wide effort to resell them myself this thread is fair.

I'm a big believer in market transparency. I won't take too hardline of an opinion on whether the seller should have done his research better, but I'm sympathetic to the view that he should see more than $25 CAD/rack for leaded, shaped inlay THCs. But besides that, if I tip someone off on a deal like this, when is a good time for me to disclose that 95 racks of these are now in circulation? Probably never in that scenario. I really do think this thread is fair.

You're literally asking the person who has never flipped a find.

I've privately helped someone offload 8,000 THC half solid half spotted, I've publicly brought someone's couple thousand starbusts here, I've picked up off FB several times and told them what it's worth and offered to buy it for 50%+ of market rate because I was keeping some and selling others. I've been banned from this platform for my, at the time, constant anti flipper remarks.

So shouldn't the original seller know what they're worth? Eh, depends. Do I think they should be fleeced? Absolutely not. But that's just me. Some of my favorite/closest chippers are huge flippers.

If you're asking in relation to my specific post, it's because humans f*cking blow. Why post this publicly, just so that either a) one person can make $3k+ off of TripleRange and whatever Canadian listed this or b) so that any deal that could happen at all is blown up?

If someone is out to make a dollar, go after the chips!
If someone is out to help others, pm a helpful pcfer who can make good things happen!

Was just explaining the why behind it. Besides we could use drama, that would mean someone cared enough to cause it.

We haven't had pitchforks in years, because someone would have to actually care about something chipping community wise for that to happen.

Also, if weighing in on this "debate"...I don't think anyone should be fleeced, but, I am also willing to bet big $$$ that the owner and now seller of these chips did not pay anywhere near what they might currently be 'worth'. Again, does this mean they should get nothing for them? Absolutely not. But they listed them for a price, and that price to them is what they are worth to have someone come and pick them up, some people are just happy to get rid of the items, especially in that quantity/weight.

I found a decent deal a few weeks ago and it turned out that 6 out of 9 racks the owner had were thrown in the garbage because the wife didn't want them/had no need for them, the other 3 were sold at a decent price when the son found the extra boxes laying around.

edit: if anyone cares about my thoughts, I'm also very anti-flipping. My thought process would be to make the seller happy with the sale, and then in turn make a PCFer who might value the chips a lot more also happy by giving them a deal. Flipping them in this scenario could make 2+ people unhappy by fleecing on both the buyer/seller side, whereas passing on the good fortune can make 2+ people happy...
