Alternative thread title: "It's Hard Out Here for a Nit"

First, some backstory... For those who do not know, I have always been on a bit of a nitty/OCD quest for what I call "real casino dealer buttons." Now, I know you can get generic buttons on eBay and Amazon that look very very similar, but to me, they just aren't the same thing. There are even some sellers that use a graphic of a "real" casino dealer button, but then ship you the same generic crap you get everywhere else. I've even dabbled in some custom-ceramic buttons, and gotten in on some of the Group Buys for them here, but they never satisfied my hankerin' for the "real deal."

I've just always wanted the acrylic casino buttons... you know, the ones with the deep engraving, with sharp edges that stand on end, and with that glorious shiny surface. But after years of ordering junk buttons, I'd basically given up on my quest. That was until some one discovered Unique Enterprises as a source for Paulson-type racks (and other casino supplies).

On a whim I called Bob at Unique last week, mentioned that I was part of the PCF "chip rack crew," and that I had a new request... "casino dealer buttons." He wasn't sure they had the exact product I was looking for, but said, "our dealer buttons are what we provide to all of our casino customers, so it might be worth a try." I decided to gamble on the order, and took a solid stock of 12 buttons.

The buttons arrived this week, and lo and behold, they are exactly what I was looking for.

Feast your eyes!!!

I had no idea. I rarely touch the dealer button in the casinos - I guess I just assumed they were the same as the cheapos.
Definitely a bit of a crazy quest, but good for you!

Yea... I think it started when I saw a player at my local casino standing it on edge... and then the dealer would knock it down as he dealt. It then became a rotating target game, as the button moved around the table. And whenever it got to me I would take the time to check it out and inspect it, and realized it was different from what I had at home.

Odd fixation for sure. :p

FWIW... these same buttons were included with Paulson home game sets at their retail stores. Those ones can be found with red, green, blue, or black text.

Thanks a lot, now I need to order some AND make a video. If you want me to credit a name other than, "just some dude" pm me. This is actually really interesting to me.

Thanks for the credit - that's cool! And PCF username is just fine!!

FYI -- I think Unique has a new flat $20 shipping/packing fee for our "small" rack and button orders. Might want to order enough to make it worth your while. And maybe you could unload any extras here.

EDIT: I'd be in for 5x more if you need to pad your order.

Now here's the real question: Can they be customized? I feel like we only have ceramic or clear acrylic dealer buttons for our customized needs.

I doubt I'll need to pad my order, thanks though. I'm excited to feel some of these in person!

Ah, quite interesting. I have to say, there's something really elegant about these dealer buttons. They just look so clean!

That's exactly what triggered my OCD... The generic ones, by comparison, just send my OCD on tilt!! o_O:eek::confused:

Shiny, sharp, crisp, clean... sigh. :)

Damn, been looking forever for those buttons as well! If anyone is looking to order some and could send a few my way, please let me know. (y)

Let's get some pron of the different colors! I think I sold you one of my blue ones?

Good idea!

I have that blue one, and a red one that came with a big set of Good Luck Club chips I bought for Stardust quarters back in the winter. I'll post up a pic of all three later today!

I used to call these "Paulson dealer buttons," but after speaking with Bob at Unique, it's clear that they are made by some one else. I just don't know who.

Here are the three that are of this style...

From left to right:
1. Unique Entertainment button -- 2. button that came with my Good Luck Club chip pick (and probably came from Paulson retail store) -- 3. Button I bought from @One Eyed Dollar that came with his CDI set

1 and 2 appear to be of the same material, but have slightly different fonts (see the D and L).
3 is a completely different material and font (see the D and R).

I think I have some black ones with white text that are as you describe, thicker with sharp edges and they will stand on edge easily. In the midst of moving and unpackaging so I'll see if I can find them.

For more verification that these are "legit," I just pulled out a box of 2008 WSOP Kem cards I remembered getting off eBay that included a "button that was used during the WSOP." Sure enough... it's identical to these Unique Ent. buttons.

This reminds me, I need to take some pics of my Dealer button pron..... ;)
I guess I *should* have an actual "Dealer" button.....it would just never make the table......

All my extras are reserved ATM. Thx.
