yeah i saw just hoping to get a barrel without paying $45 for shippingThose LadyLuck $25 chips are still available in the Black Friday ChipRoom sale.

Ahh, true.yeah i saw just hoping to get a barrel without paying $45 for shipping![]()
I wrote that Jim isn't going to charge you $45 for shipping and that last time I bought chips from him just recently I bought 700 chips and it was $15 for shipping. For a barrel like that it is going to cost you $8.50 or something close to that (what ever USPS small flat rate box)yeah i saw just hoping to get a barrel without paying $45 for shipping![]()
yeah i want to but i dont even know how paulsons feel which is an issue. i don't want to spend $500 on a set when i have no income to not be completely satisfiedI wrote that Jim isn't going to charge you $45 for shipping and that last time I bought chips from him just recently I bought 700 chips and it was $15 for shipping. Now looking at your location I see you are in the UK. Maybe it is that much to ship chips abroad....idk. If it is, you might as well just go big and buy like 1000 chips from someone just to make the shipping somewhat reasonable

yeah ive done a lot of research into chips. i wouldve assumed chips would be more expensive in the future when more people are allowed to play? i dont know about the US but in the UK we are in lockdown so hosting games isn't an option.lol...
yea, I get that.
Paulson's have a nice soft feel to them and when you compare how they feel to anything else that you see for sale there really is no comparrison. Pauson's win hands down and that is not just me, it is pretty much everyone agrees. Unfortunately Paulson only sells to licensed Card Rooms and Casinos so there are not a lot of options and when they do come up for sale they are not cheap. The only other real option is CPC (Classic Poker Chips) for true Compression molded chips and those are actually even more expensive. Sometimes Card Rooms and Casinos go out of Business or change names or what not and that is where most of the Paulsons you see on here come from. Most everyone here either already has Paulson's or they wish they did. You are not going to be disappointed.
Chip prices have gone bonkers lately. If you can hold off for a bit, you could wait until either Jim has another Sale in The Chip Room or wait until this current Covid thing dies down and then things will likely cool off a bit. My guess is that a year form now you will be able to find Paulson's steeply discounted from where they are right now, but who really knows. That is just a guess.
You can't even have a home game right now? I think right now interest in Poker (at least in the US) is higher than it has been in years. Everyone is sitting around looking for something to do and Poker is one thing that you can do with a small group of friends.yeah ive done a lot of research into chips. i wouldve assumed chips would be more expensive in the future when more people are allowed to play? i dont know about the US but in the UK we are in lockdown so hosting games isn't an option.
Yep, Paulson's are pretty much the holy grail. THC > RHC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Everything elseI would imagine by looking at Paulsons they would be the holy grail of chips. I've never been to a casino but the quality looks exceptional. As much as i'd love to buy a full set i've bought a full set of chips before and was very disappointed. granted they were junk chips compared to Paulson's quality but the sentiment remains.
Seems to me that there must be someone that lives in the UK that has already taken the hit on shipping. Maybe you can snag 10 or 20 chips that are someone's extras. If I can just get my hands on a barrel at a reasonable shipping price, feel what it would feel like to handle a mini stack of chips, then I would feel ready to start building my set![]()
not at present. coronavirus cases are very high. there was a period between May-September where we could, and a little bit of December, but not at the moment. Here’s a thread about THC vs RHC:not at present. coronavirus cases are very high. there was a period between May-September where we could, and a little bit of December, but not at the moment. Hopefully by March we can.
Also i've seen people write this a lot but what does THC and RHC mean?

thank you, understoodHere’s a thread about THC vs RHC:

Generally THC has more clay on the surface for better “bite” between chips, and is less prone to “flea bites” which are little pieces of clay that chip off...much more prevalent in RHC chips due to the hats being close to the chip edge.
Also, THC has been used less and less lately by casinos, which makes demand for them even greater.
