So, what's the correct order for sorting a color sample stack (CPC, for instance). Let the debate start!
I'd like to see some creative visual stacks, but also to find as smooth of a transition as possible.

Browns can fall into reds or oranges depending on hue. Black white & gray aren't colors. White is the absence of color. Grays & blacks are shades not colors. If grays or whites have color tints to them they aren't technically white or gray anymore. So if OCD, throw them on either side of your color spectrum and you're fine (I guess - lol).

Really you can organize colors in a bazillion ways, but another common way is by separating into warm and cool colors. Clothing industries use "seasonal" color charts. Really it's a rabbit hole you should avoid.

Personally I don't bother organizing my Paulson color samples since I use them quite a bit and would rather spend time on other meaningless tasks. lol

Yeah, I know the theory. But it's not as simple to do smoothly with for example CPC samples.
