Poker Dealer from Vegas checking in! (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone! I've been playing poker for the past 5 years. I have been dealing part time on the strip for the past year. I started collecting poker chips shortly after finding the beauty in them from handling them so much while dealing. I am interested in collecting tons of $1 chips from all around the world.

I never realized that people collected poker chips until I one day googled how to clean them. Now I'm becoming like the rest of you with racks of chips from casinos up and down the strip.

Of course dealers love to play poker. I just don't want to play where I work. Don't want to give my tips back or stop getting tipped if I smash a regular. I'm always amazed by the dealers who work an 8 hour shift, put on a jacket, then sit right down to play the rest of their day away.

Welcome. I used to deal poker and shift manage on the strip as well. Since you’re in Vegas, you should stop by Spinetti’s if you haven’t already. They have a nice selection of chips.

welcome. I just applied to deal the wsop. Its been on my bucket list for like 15 years now. hopefully I can make it happen this year. And I agree with you. Playing where you work is like shitting where you eat. never a good idea, although it took me a while to learn. lol

I have driven by Spinetti's many times and have been told by dealers/players I need to check it out. I think this is the week I make that happen.

That's great! If you deal the WSOP, you will be working very long hours everyday. You will make 7K-10K+ for your time though. Summer is when we all feast on tourist tips. If you can deal mixed games, you will make extra on your tournament tables (I think anywhere from $6-15 extra per hour worked).

Hello and welcome to the Forum. I also collect $1 chips but I limited my collection to current and closed Colorado casinos (my home until deciding to retire and get away from the crowds and move to a quieter life in SD).

So, are there dealers that only deal poker or is it also expected/required that you deal things like Black Jack, Mississippi Stud, 3 card poker, etc? Just curious

Poker is usually separate from casino tables. So poker dealers just deal poker.
