Hahah… I asked the AI overlords when is best time for auctions to end and that’s what it said…. Sunday nights. Blame AI.
Furthermore I intend to add additional auctions all ending around the same time and allowing combined shipping.

Back in the day (just months ago maybe?) auctions were informal, where we posted our bids. It was generally funny and fun, lots of social aspects to the bidding, etc.
They formalized the process because American adults couldn’t manually determine what “5 minutes after last bid” meant.

I think new process is fine. After the fact I even went through the machinations to use the system to input address / pay / ship / add tracking / leave feedback just to use it to the fullest.
To bring back the fun back just add a comment field to the bid field. No $69 bid should be allowed unless a “nice.” Can go along with it.

Diff strokes for diff folks.
4 different pages to figure out what’s happening on an auction? The early 2000s called, they want their UI/UE back.
If I cared enough I’d gather data to support the statement, but instead I’ll just say it “feels” like they pretty much destroyed auctions for anything not extremely desired.

I find it clumsy at times but think it's a step in the right direction.... Some of the discussions are still good and instead of the bids coming from a user it's from bid-bot. So not that different there.
I agree that some items at auction sell for lower than I'd expect and at times much lower than contemporaneous "for sale" listings.
I also must admit I don't have a basis for judgment as the good ole' days predate my involvement here. But I can still say generally:
"The good old days weren't always good and tomorrow ain't as bad it seems..."
