Tourney Points for league game that includes non-league players (2 Viewers)

I'm trying to come up with a points system for league games that include non-league players. I recall seeing a thread somewhere related to this ( I think I recall it even having an excel sheet of the formula breakdown ) but can't seem to find it now.

Anyone recall this thread or have a suggestion on where I can find some info on this?

That should be treated as league players. Sub status maybe?

Is there an issue with just treating them as league players? Let them receive however many points they would for their finishing location and be done with it. If they don't play in that many events, they won't end up with many points. They should be buying in to the full amount... including money that goes into end of season event.

I occasionally play with a league where I am that "outsider." Full buy-in, I get whatever points for that given night... but I won't have anyway near enough points to make the final event... unless I commit to the league. I'm good with it because its an opportunity to play with a great group. I just can't commit long term, due to family etc. No worries. So I end up paying a little extra that I am not eligible for unless I commit... that's the price I'm willing to pay.

I take the league money right out of the prize pool. $20 per paid spot. I assign points to everyone. Pretty much what shaggy said.

We've went to just awarding points to the top nine finishers in our league each game. We ignore any non-league guests and only give points to the top nine.
We've found this handles any league drops that might occur during the year that affect the number of points available and let's face it- if you don't finish in the top nine occasionally your not going to accumulate enough points to win any player of the year or other awards like that.

I'm with the majority - all players are treated as league players. Same buy-in, same points, same food, same fun. It's up to the individual to attend on a regular basis or just occasionally (though occasional players are far more likely to be B-listed, and only get invites when A-listers cannot attend).
