Never played Pinochle but I have accidentally used a Pinochle deck in a hold'em game. We figured out there was a problem in the first orbit but not the first hand. Ended up refunding everyone's chips the start after a pointy discussion.

Big pairs unimproved aren't that good using a Pinochle deck -=- DrStrange
