I happened to be living in Lafayette, Louisiana in the 1980s when these chips were being used in illegal tourneys, though I didn’t realize it at the time.

Much later, in 2014, a very nice guy named Tim (not me!) began selling the chips. I don’t remember how he came to be in possession of all the chips, but I probably have it in an email somewhere. Anyway, he sold VERY few of the $1 chips on eBay, and wanted to keep the rest, because “1000 is such a nice number” (his exact words).

I tried very hard to talk him out of just a single rack of $1s, even offering to ultrasonic clean his entire set, but he wouldn’t give in. Once, I even tried to visit him at his liquor store in Austin, TX when I was there on business, but I missed him.

Any howitzer… Super nice chips. GLWS!
