Hello, experts!

I have some older white solids that I'm planning to mill & label, but I'm not quite happy with their tint yet. I soaked in TSP & ultrasonic cleaned twice, then scrubbed with a sonic scrubber. They're worlds better than when I started, but I'm not content yet.

I received some advice on using peroxide for white chips. First, is that good advice? Second (assuming that it is), can someone give me the specifics (ELI5) on doing this? I have ~400 chips that could use a facelift.

Thanks in advance!

The above pic is before any cleaning, correct? If you ran through the US twice I'd expect these to look a lot cleaner.

This is after the first run. They were old and crusty to the point that they smelled like old coins.

Oxiclean will work wonders on those. It’s the best thing I’ve used, to whiten white chips. It definitely fades colors, so I’ll only use it on solid white chips.
I forget if it damages hot stamps though.

Okay, great. I'm not worried about the hot stamps, so I may give that a shot.

I had the same issue with some older white Paulson THCs I got off eBay for cheap. I bought them specifically to try and clean them and didnt care if they got ruined. They were filthy, moldy even. I did the peroxide soak overnight and it did nothing, but warp (domed) a few chips. I tried an ultrasonic cleaner but that didn't do anything either.

What worked amazingly was using a cheap ultrasonic toothbrush I got off Amazon for $30 with some Dawn dish soap that I cut with 3% hydrogen peroxide. I used 1 tablespoon of Dawn and 1 tsp of 3% hydrogen peroxide and mixed it up gently so it didn't foam up. I barely dipped the toothbrush into the mix and cleaned the chip. Be sure not to press the bristles into the chip, just lightly make contact. You need the ends of the bristles to "dance" on the surface of the chip. Add a bit more soap mix if you don't get a nice fluffy foam. I kept brushing for about 1 minute each side and let the mix set on the chip for another minute then repeated the brushing for another minute each side. I know, 5 mins a chip is tough. but!!!!!!
