Paulson Starburts_What's a good price? (1 Viewer)

Hey guys - new collector here trying to build my first set of paulson, non-denominated starbursts. Does anyone have a good rule of thumb / suggested value for them? Presumably condition and color make a difference in value. Just trying to get a sense so as to not get ripped off. Thanks!

search the classifieds for starburst, you should see lots of sales. that will give you a good idea for prices - condition and color do indeed affect the price quite a bit.

Roughly $2/chip for nice condition ‘regular’ colors ie red, blue, white. $3/chip for less common colors ie yellow, purple. $4/chip for day glow colors ie blaze orange, arc yellow.

If the chip and or stamp are “gently used” or the stamp is fading and chip has some wear, then you can expect $1> per.

Well worn bursts will go for $60-$80/rack. Even well used bursts are great chips and beyond serviceable.

When you see THC Starbursts or mono-gram chips on eBay or anywhere but PCF, they are usually overpriced.

Except the Facebook marketplace score from an unwitting civilian. This is my favorite move for well priced chips.

Oh and starbursts in pretty good shape can be found reasonably around $150-$200rack, sometimes. BUT that’s for the basic colors. Red, Blue, Green, and sometimes white and black.

If you see racks of the more rare or cooler colors, then you can expect to pay over that $200.

Oh and in my experience it was way easier to get starbursts piece by piece.

Wow, I think I remember that. Something like 1600 chips in a big wooden case with a bunch of great colors?

By the way, it honestly happens that the name of a casino can be under this stamp... It is often used to cancel chips.
And using them as tournament chips is pure pleasure.

Looked it up. I paid $800 for 900 chips, in a vintage Paulson case. White, red, green, black. Monogram one side starbursts the other. Heavy, still in great condition. I added some pinks and blues later.

See above. Leather/leatherette case, 900 chips, 89¢/chip. (I sold the case.)
