They weren’t advertised as new, and they weren’t advertised as used, but this is the way they came. Bought recently and this is all they had. I was going to use as a frac, but finding more of these is difficult, not impossible but difficult.

they are how I bought them. I can’t claim they are new because I don’t know. They LOOK new. They are clean and sharp. I’ve not broken them out because I just didn’t want to unwrap them. Bought from a casino rental/sales type place. I’ll post some additional pics.

If someone is seriously interested in purchasing them, but wants pictures of them, and wants it verified out of the shrinkwrap, I'll unwrap them. For now, the wrap makes it easy to ship and I'm keeping it on. I'm not unwrapping them though just to investigate a conspiracy theory.

they are how I bought them. I can’t claim they are new because I don’t know. They LOOK new.

We're questioning whether they might be counterfeit.

New Paulsons have a raised/convex bump texture(DISCLOSURE- I don't have any "paulson chips" molds to look at). Your last pic looks like it might have a depressed/concave/waffle bump texture.

Sorry if this is a trivial question, I’m still learning about a lot of chips, and the security features that have been implemented over time.

Did Paulson put THC holograms on the home sets that they used to sell, or is that a security feature strictly only used and implemented at casinos?

I’m going to assume the answer is no because someone would have probably already recommended to do this, but I’m still obviously curious for future reference.

No holograms on my Pharaohs. The top one in the picture appears to have the P in Pharaoh off the label. An imperfection on the one that is visible seems like pretty long odds to me. The other thing is how is it known that the edges are sharp if they can't be felt?

None of my 1200+ have that error. I would for sure open them to see if any of the others look like that & check texture. Here are mine:

I took them out of the wrapper though as that seems to be causing all kinds of heartburn.

Lol yeah the pictures I took were from about 6 years ago with a Samsung 8. (iPhones are overrated/sorry not sorry!)

Chips look legit from here. Some definite color transfer though & at least 1 flea bite though. If the inlays are secure like you're denominated $5 I would be confident that they are real. These have been faked before & I believe the inlays were super easy to remove.

Chances are your phone isn’t set to the highest camera resolution which can easily be changed in settings. you can also get way better quality by entering video mode, and taking pictures while you’re recording.

FYI on the shrink wrap, the mint unused WTHC $5s I bought in the auction a month or two ago were in similar shrink wrap and I have no doubt they are the real deal so I would say that is not a detail that should raise any undue alarm because Paulson did sell them like that.

Paulson/GPI has never sold/delivered chips in plastic shrink-wrap. Never.

Nothing to stop a distributor or reseller from packaging new (or used) chips that way for re-sale, however. But it's definitely not from-the-factory packaging.

Interesting. They were selling through major retailers (must have been nice when you could roll into a Wal-Mart or Best Buy and pick up some lol). @pltrgyst do you remember who you bought those WTHC $5s from?

GPI only sold to distributors like Tradmark Poker (typically 100k lots). Resellers (mostly online) purchased their chips from Trademark.
