Paulson Le Noir (1 Viewer)

austin5string's rope design did win the HPT contest, but the design submitted by Fins (below) is what was actually used for production of the Le Paulson Noir chips:

J5's runner-up inlay design submission in SidePot's earlier Protege contest on CT was the basis for the Le Paulson Noir artwork.

I have only a vague memory of that rope mold but I remember voting for it.
Haven't seen A5S in a while there or on CT or anywhere else.....

I can't understand why the 25 and 100 have the same spot pattern, and then the 500 and 1000 have the same spot pattern. And I've read people praising the spot pattern progression on this set.

Very limited number of fixed pattern/color options with GPI back then, even when ordering 100,000 chips. By far the best set of choices from the available options at the time.

And of course, the number of available options today is zero.

Best chips ever... I have more then I need, but would never part with them. Here is an article I have from when I bought them in 2008.

just picked up a set of ~900 compliments of @Changster and I got to saw I LOVE THEM! Always liked the look of them but I will admit when I first got them the non RHC/THC mold was freaking me out. I waffled but got used to them quickly. My one small gripe is the inlays though which are congested because of the background image but also almost bland because of the simple number/lettering... I'll wait until I can make a long-term commitment to them but once that happens they'll be going under the knife and replaced with a white inlay with some colorful lettering/numbering.

Very cool history as well btw. Thanks to all those who contributed their knowledge!

Glad you like them! Maybe put them to use a few times before going under the knife?

Put some Pro series labels on this time. No need for high dollar Casino quality

My third clay set when I paid $2/chip CAD all-in back in late 2014. Drove 16 hours round trip from Vancouver, Canada to pick them up in Oregon.

1000 ct set but not pictured below is 50 x $25, 100 x $100 and 50 x $5000:

I only have a 300 ct set now as I've sold off most of my Paulsons to fund my custom CPC sets.

Waaaaay late to the game here... do you think Sidepot and GPI would ever do a group buy of the same mold and style? I'd buy a 2000 chip set...

If not I'm definitely adding a set of these to my bucket list. If anyone ever feels like selling a full set send me a PM no matter how old this post is.

Sidepot is no longer in business, and GPI no longer sells chips to anyone other than casinos. So the answer is a very firm "no", I don't think these chips will ever be made again.

You never know. Still waiting for my Asian Paulsons.
