Not Mine Pair of Trump Taj Mahal Poker Chairs in South Jersey (1 Viewer)

No idea what the value of these might be, but they look cool, and if you spent any time at the Taj back in the day (“where the sand turns to gold”), these would be nice to have.
Those sold at the Taj liquidation auction about 2 years ago for $35 each. I almost went and picked some up but I figured the 1000+ hours my ass logged in those chairs was plenty.

I thought the same thing and didn’t go.

Welcome to the Hard Rock AC where the elevators are still slow and you can still get comped at the noodle bar. Which by the way is still located in the same place. :D
No more “sitting with the scumbags raking the occasional pot” though.
Can’t believe they left out the card room!:wow:

Hopefully they’ll get the Poker Room back then they can start the Midnight Madness tournaments again.
The midnight madness tourneys were hands down some of the best ever! I really miss the days when poker tournaments were structured for the players.
Now it’s all about rebuys and how many fees a casino can ad on to a players entry.
Then on top of the fees cut the overall prize pool by another 3-5 percent for dealers and other admin fees. It’s crazy these days.

Okay, my first time ever on the east coast I flew into DC and stayed a couple nights then rented a car and was headed to Manhattan with a stop in point pleasant NJ. We were slated to pass Atlantic City so of course I had to check out some casinos. I looked online on my phone hoping to find a morning tournament, and man I was pleasantly surprised to find a midnight tourney at the Taj. I was racing to make the tourney and and was in the game with minutes to go.

There were two tables playing, I won the tournament, cashed for about 4 or 5 hundred, it really helped me that trip, I was traveling with someone to help them tie up some loose ends with their family, and really didn’t have much spending cash.

If I remember correctly, it wasn’t really a poker “room” at all, it felt like a few tables in a wide hallway :)

Hi John you are correct. A lot of the times they started the Midnight Madness Tournament in that side room that was to the right of the Main Poker Room. That room did not have any doors to enter it and sort of was like a wide hallway with emergency exits to the outside. If they had a lot of people they also had a tables in the Main Poker room too. Towards the end of the TAJ casino running the Midnight Madness Tournaments they stopped using the hallway and played it only in the main poker room. I played in that Saturday Midnight Madness tournament like almost every weekend for a little over a year. I think I got pretty good at Tournaments at that time period because I played them so much. Now I rarely play any at Casinos because tourneys take so much time. It was one of the best run tournaments in AC I think. I also liked that it was a Freezeout with no Rebuys. All this was before I got married and had a kid. Those days are long gone for me.

in my rush to get there in time, we parked in a parking lot and rushed inside hoping to make the cutoff and i was thinking... great... now i have to search around for the always hard to find poker room in a big casino filled with slots and tables, but nope, I entered the doors closest to the parking lot and bam, right there in the hallway i was greeted with the slow sound of shuffling chips... found the floorman and i was in. Very laid back crew, very professional and all in all, a great game.

i think the only other midnight tourneys i've played were at one of my home casinos, Bicycle Club was running them regularly before, not sure about now... just like you man, i have a wife and kids and don't get out hardly at all, i used to do well at the Bike midnight tourneys as well, we would usually get about 4 tables and would make the final table most of the time, cash most of the time and took down my fair share of wins. . That late of a crowd is almost guaranteed to split the pool early, we would usually start making deals at 4 players remaining. I think i had an advantage because i don't drink alcohol, there was plenty of drunk money in the game every night =)
