Hey you fine poker chip fiends,
I came into this set as a piggy back on my first acquisition on this site from @p5woody when I purchased some tourney chips from him. The chips have basically sat in boxes because I didn't really have a game to put them into. And I've tried to give them away but I don't really have any friends who need chips like these eiither, and Woody didn't want them back because he has too many really nice chips and doesn't need the likes of these clogging up his shelves and chip racks.
So, what to do with these? Well there's an orphanage in El Salvador that my wife spent a few summers working in while she was in college and she and I still donate to in an effort to support their mission of providing protection, housing, food, and a quality life to abandoned or otherwise homeless children. My wife and I support a number of charities, but this is one of those where we know that our dollars are making an incredible impact every day in the lives of some of the most needy people on our planet. And there's no organizational overhead or national governing body filled with administrators who are taking money off the top. Our dollars go straight into the hands of the people paying rent, buying food, and tucking these kids into bed every night.
So here are some adequate, clean, and well-loved chips up for auction, and I will donate the entire sum of the winning bid to the Shalom Children's home.
Quantities are:
200x lovely pink quarters
200x lovely white dollars
50x lovely grey fivers and
50x lovely black teners.
If you are interested, you can read more about the orphanage here.
Also this is the first time I've posted something like this, so please let me know if I've made a mistake or been unclear in some way.
Thanks!
Casey
