Origin of your Username (8 Viewers)

I loved the movie the Matrix, I loved explosions growing up:

My name is Jeremy, which is taken as an username, everywhere. My middle initial is S. Believe it or not, JerS is also taken most everywhere. Every significant date in my life has fallen on the 28th, my sports and racing number was always 28, as was my wife’s when we were young. Our wedding was on the 28th, my son was born on the 28th, it just goes on and on. 28 is kind of the family number at this point. So, JerS28 seemed easily remembered.

I hadn’t considered people thinking I’m from New Jersey. Oops.

I actually already sort of regret using Tweedledum for my username here. It's kind of a throwaway name I use on sites I don't expect to spend much time on. But somehow poker chips have a way of sucking a person in... Anyway, I used it first over a decade ago on a site called agar.io. Players play as circles that try to eat other circles. My hope was that if I got big enough, someone would choose the name Tweedledee and I would team up with them. It worked a couple times!

On a positive note, the Through the Looking-Glass reference is something I think fondly of because I read through it and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in a downloaded .txt over the course of a couple days in high school so that I had something to talk about with my crush because I knew she was reading it. It worked out, now we've been married for 16 years!

I am a geologist. In the wide world of rocks, there is one called schist, which is a metamorphic rock with obviously a fantastic name. I have a t-shirt that says: “schist happens, metamorphically speaking.” This was a stupid joke that stuck with me out of my college days.

As for the 848 part, I have no idea. It’s just always been a number after usernames for me through the years.
