- looking for at least a rack, preferably 160 total, to add on to my one current rack
- considering any qty from single chips to two racks
- considering any condition but matching the one shown would be ideal (texture worn off but easily stands on edge)
- going into a mixed LCV/SCV set so either will do
- these will be milled so hotstamp variety and condition is not a factor

I don't know official Paulson color names or have sample set of colors, so I'm not certain how precise this request is or if it's clear what chips would match. Any info is welcome!

No idea how easy or difficult these might be to find. The darker blue shown seems more common if I had to guess.

My workdays tend to be long hectic and I don't usually have access to PCF while there. If I'm radio silent to conversations during the day, I will get back to you at night!

My vote is for Dolphin Blue. The blue family is one that has many different color names. You really need to put your sample chip next to a shade guide to tell which color if falls under.

Looks like Blue Grain to me. But I'll let one of the color experts chime in.

Thanks! Did some quick research... that definitely looks like the best candidate to me. But these had apparently been casino used then stored for years before I got them, so if that's a newer (?) color, it may not end up being the match.

My vote is for Dolphin Blue.
I can definitely see this too.

If any offers turn up, I'm happy to send along one of my chips and cover postage back, to check.

I have a rack of Light Blue Starburst in excellent condition if you can't find the exact chips to match your color. PM me if interested

My guess would be Day Blue. That darker shade chip is probably Light Blue (which is actually pretty dark, go figure).

Do you have any other Paulson chips that contain any shades of blue?

^ Good thinking... match it up to a known casino chip. But alas my humble collection does not contain any other blues currently. :(

Just this Russian one which I think won't help as it's pretty offbeat. The edgespot is a bit darker than the roulette.

I smell a prop bet a brewing...a sample set of loser's choice to winner. Who's in? I only have an incomplete sample set of 70 colors...who has a complete one that he can send the chip for judging? This is easy money since I'm mostly color blind. :ROFLMAO:

I have a full set (except for discontinued Royal Blue).

I'm going with Horizon Blue ....BGinGA may I send a sample for comparison?

So is this bet on? I have an old drilled Royal Blue and its definitely not it. Royal Blue is a very dark navy blue color.

I would have to confirm the color tonight, but I have around 85 of these in almost new condition that I don't need and would sell cheap.

Don't know if this will help or just confuse the issue more -- but there are some very good photos/scans of Paulson sample chip colors are under the References section here on PCF - (it's the last entry on page 2). There are a lot of blue shades. Click on the chip for a bigger photo.

Colors can look different under different lighting, flash from camera, whether chips are oiled or not, and even slight variations of color between batches of chips made. I have some Paulson SCV light gray roulette chips that are a very light gray shade in person, and they don't seem to match any of the Paulson standard colors.

^For sure... even the two pictures I posted of the same exact chip look quite different. Thanks for that CPF reference.

@Stas thanks for that picture, definitely still think Horizon is a very strong candidate.

Looks like I need to start putting together a sample colors set for making these kind of references. Do sets or parts of sets come up for sale on occasion?

I have a partial set of Paulson samples. I have to go home and count how many. Pm me if interested in trading or buying.

bentax1978 sent one of the J&S chips he posted to compare. (y)

The J&S is Horizon Blue. What do we think, is this a match? I think between batch differences (across, potentially, many years), plus my chips being casino used in probably a smoky environment then stored for years in probably poor conditions, ... this is proabably the same color. In the edge shots the known Horizon Blue is second from left. Pics in a few different kinds of light.

I think mixing these might tilt me though so I could be SOL for an add-on.

Yes, I do believe the chips @bentax1978 sent you are a match, just in much better condition imo. If you bought these...http://www.ebay.com/itm/400-vintage-roulette-chips-/172660564857?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&nma=true&si=0wjV3je0l79jMOuHz%2FyTNhBG%2FkE%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc from eBay seller kerwis6, I have 98 horizon blue "roulette 1" chips I bought from him. They are warped though :( After noticing he was only a half hour from me I offered to buy any remaining paulson solids he had left. I also have close to 100 more of those purple "TAM" chips as well, if you are interested...which are also warped. I'll post up some pics tomorrow when I've got some sunlight to work with.

Ha, yes, that was my source. I definitely have some chip baking in my future. If you think the blues are bad you should see the orange ones I got. Still happy with them though.

Thanks for posting! ... PM on it's way.
