That is the story. That has never been confirmed. FWIW. I agree. I don't "think" these were "casino" chips. Now with that said. They are pretty cool 43 mm chips.

Big Tops were not acquired by a casino. If you look closely at the photos the buyers posted of the GPI boxes, you can see the name of the business that bought them.

FWIW to anyone back in 2020 when these first came around (as I recall) I did some digging and it did seem to me at the time it wasn’t an NAGB. The Ojibwa tribe is legit and does operate a casino. To my recollection these were made to be used for a tournament(s) that never occurred due to COVID. Seems to me that someone more than likely got lucky. Would be akin to my local room closing and me getting the chips before Jim. It’s a lot harder to get these Paulson buys through even with buddies who are in the industry. IMO this was a non NAGB acquisition.

Obviously, they are from a casino .. Look at other NagB sets. They are bright as candy and was originally planned for sale. Great chips! 1000 Just pleases my eyes! Finally, yellow, not Orange.
