1- Post an expose on your (past/current) game room chairs.
2- Details on how you obtained them.
3- Post a few pictures.
4- This is intended to be a gallery (collection of people's game room chairs).

I'll start.

Here are my new game room chairs. They're made by a company called Hon, who manufactures high end office furniture.

The story of how I obtained them is rather funny. I answered a Craigslist ad that had these red chairs (with a fuzzy bad pic) for $10 each. I responded to some warehouse, where this lady was explaining that she was tasked with selling off all their company's chairs. Apparently, she works for an accounting firm, and their corporate office did a company-wide theme change, which necessitated the changing from red chairs to blue, and this batch of office chairs was only 6 months old at the time. I explained I was looking for chairs for my poker table, and the lady explained she had "stacking" chairs available, but since they were made by "Hon" they'd be $35 each. But I could have the red chairs for $10/each. The red chairs seemed to fit my game room better and they were very comfy, so I took all 11 red chairs she had left (she threw in the 11th chair for free, so I only paid $9 each). After my minivan was all loaded up, and money had exchanged hands, the lady looks into my van while the tailgate is closing, and looks suddenly shocked... She exclaims, "OMG, those are Hon chairs!" She noticed a label on the bottom of one of the chairs. She adds, "Those retail for $350 each!" .. She then looks at me with a defeated look and says "you got one hell of a bargain". Then she laughs and walks off to her car. At this point, I have no idea what a Hon chair is...

My former chairs were black parsons chairs that looked nice but had flimsy construction. It felt like one was breaking every other session.

I bought these from a restaurant supply store that is supposedly b2b only. When I ordered them they asked me the name of my business and without missing a beat I said "The Hitching Post." (Which is actually is a famous restaurant in California.)

Oh, price was somewhere in the neighborhood of $150 each.

One of my past companies leased a new building, and the former tenant left all their furniture. A few years went by and my company decided not to renew that lease. The new building tenant wanted all the furniture out, so employees were able to claim what they wanted. I ended up with ridiculously nice, fully adjustable Hunter "Calliope" chairs for my table. I looked them up a long time ago, and they were ~$1k each. Crazy prices for a chair, and I wish I could convert them to chips! I don't quite have enough for both tables (14 total), so the first people who arrive at the game get to claim a nice chair.

Edit: Was curious about pricing. Looks like the model with this fabric is currently on sale at ~$1,075 / chair (includes the 30% off sale). Unreal....

Just seeing this and am surprised there aren’t more chairs listed. My story is very similar.

An insurance agency was downsizing their office space, so they needed to clear a floor. Posted a detailed ad on CL. Telecommunications, desks, cubicles, with clear pictures and details. Oh, and some chairs, which you could only see in the background and no details. I could hardly tell, but it looked like the fabric spots on the chairs might match the fabric rope on my table, so what the heck. I take the bench seat out of the minivan and head out.

When I get there, I find chairs, some of which were never used. The woman says, I think we have 7 and they’re $35 each. I’m in. I’ll take them all. “Ok, the office manager will be out to take the money.”

A few minutes later an older woman comes out and says, “they sold these for $35? You just got a great deal.” They are Steelcase chairs. This was 5 years ago and they now sell used now for almost $400 each. My guys love them. Love CL. Bought cubicle walls for $5 and use them in my hobby room.

We used to play on my dining room chairs which were some fairly standard IKEA chairs. I plan to pick up a Chanman table in the next few weeks and will also get from Tony some chairs from the now closed Edgewater Casino

Didn't Tony say something like he got them for $1 each, and then when he went to pick them up they misdistributed the lots and gave him twice as many chairs?

Bought these from a church that moved into a location with pews for $15/chair. May have fibbed about what I was using them for. Nothing spectacular looking but they are VERY comfortable and love the flex back.

Intend to buy chairs for poker for my new home. Leaning towards the first two leather designs but the dining chairs are enticing.
Anyone has elevated chairs like the first two? Do they take up space?

They look very comfortable but are you sure they don't take up too much space? You'd need a pretty big table even if you wanted to accommodate just 8 of those....
I intend to buy a 2.4m(length) x 1.2m or 1.35m (width) table.
I skipped those with wheels as the base will take up space. Guess I’ll stick to dining chairs?

Btw, with the exception of the dealer, we rarely have more than 8 players.
