I hung around a starting stack for most of the night. @TKEUofM's wife served a delicious meal for 16 at the break.

Once bust outs started happening, I bumped to 1.5x starting sack. Still at or below the chip average. Then hands heated up. Got a few KO's at the final table. Got lucky with 66; raised to 3xBB and got shoved on for ~8.7xBB. I knew this player had a hand and it likely was a pocket pair, not AK/AQ, but it felt exploitable to fold. I called and got the bad news...JJ. But caught a 6 on the river. Flipped a boat holding 44 on and 334 flip. Checked it twice, rivered quads and bet half pot. Got paid off.

I found myself heads-up with someone who plays a similar style. We agreed to chop the $140 LLB ($70 each) and then I just chipped away at him. He took the lead a few times, but I kept taking small pots. No doubt we overstayed our welcome. But just after midnight, I had about 115K of 160K in play. I flopped top pair with T9, my opponent turned a 6 for a pair, and I rivered two pair. He shoved, I called and it was all over.

Tonight was a wild one at the B&B. @doublebooyah85, you’ll appreciate this. We play the 7/2 game and race car game, which is important for later.

The first 4 hours, I didn’t get one premium hand. I got AJo twice in the small blind and whiffed badly on the flop. Fortunately, I got 7/2 dealt to me all night long. If you’re going to run bad, it’s nice to run all the way bad. No 8/3 crap, give me the 7/2 so I can have a shot and punting my stack for a stupid bounty! 🤣🤣🤣 No kidding, I got 7/2 ten separate times tonight and got it through 7 of those times. They just couldn’t believe I could be stone bluffing with 7/2, again! Yep. So, I ran my $300 buy in up to $2k before I finally get pocket Aces! 🙌 I’m in the small blind, but the button straddled to $5 and I’m first to act. I raise to $20 (standard raise in our game) and pray someone 3 bets me. Nope. Five people limp in. Shit. That’s ok, flop comes 4, A, 7 rainbow. No way I’m betting into this, everyone will fold. I need to let them catch up. It checks around. Kind of figured. Turn is a 5. I no longer have the stone nuts, but what are the chances someone played 6/8. I bet $80. Snap call from main villain and everyone else folds. His snap call makes me think he’s on a draw or he’d think about it longer. He’s a former pro, also so he takes his time. River was a king. I figure he was on a draw and missed, if I check, he’s going to bluff at it. Pots $262 and he shoves for nearly $2k. Ridiculous overbet sold me hook, line and sinker on the missed draw, I snap call with my set of Aces and he shows 6/8 of hearts. For $20 on the button, I’m playing that, too. Shit.

I win with trash for hours and get a monster and punt nearly all of it. So, I add on $1,700 to get to an even $2k I’m in for. I lost a few other mid size pots I’ll spare the details. I’m down to $800 on the table, in for $2k. I am running horribly and figure it’s just going to be one of those nights. Oh well. Try to minimize the damage.

About this time, my son joins the game. He buys in for $800. A few hands later, I get dealt K ♠️ J ♠️, again in the small blind. Button straddle is on, so I raise to $20. Called by my son, and two others. Flop is 10 ♠️, 4♠️, J♥️. My son is super aggressive, so I just check. He doesn’t let me down, he bets $65. Everyone else folds to me and I just call. Turn is the A♠️. Check. He bets $100, I raise to $300, he jams, I snap call. Poor kid had A/J. River didn’t bail him out. It was a Q ♦. So, I stack Kaleb. He re-buys for another $800.

The very next hand (I now have 2 race cars and am on the button, which I didn’t bother straddling, as everyone knows I’m playing any 2 cards for the third race car, anyway. I get K♣️/J♣️. It limps around to the LJ, who raises to $20, HJ folds, CO calls, I re-raise to $50. SB folds, BB (my son) calls and it folds around to the LJ who calls. Flop come J, J, 7. BB bets $50, LJ raises to $150. I’d normally probably just call, but because of the race car game, these guys will think I’m full of shit, so I raise to $450. My son jams on me for his fresh $800 (what he’d started the hand with anyway, obviously less after a few rounds of betting), the LJ says “I don’t know wtf you guys are betting with, but I’m all in” and tosses his all in chip in. I snap call his jam of roughly $2,400. He had QJo, my son had pocket Aces and my trip Jacks with a slightly better kicker held up. I collected the race car bounty from the table, in addition to Kaleb’s $800 and Tim’s $2k (ish, he had me covered by a few hundo). The next hand was another jam I called and won with, but not nearly as exciting. He bluffed, I had KK, they held. That opponent was short stack and called it a night.

For the night, I was up over $2k, then down $1,200, cashed for $5,500, so a profit of $3,500. Kaleb didn’t fair so well. He got stacked by dad twice in a row, so best he could manage was cashing out down $1,200. Another PCF member (not very active on here, but I drug him here anyway lol) is pictured here with me. We once again failed miserably at taking many in game pics. The action is so crazy, I get caught up and don’t think about pics. Oops. Anyway, a good pic of Ryan and I. It’s after 2am and I didn’t get his permission to post, so I’m blocking out his face for now.

Was a wild night and another great one. Robyn made a Mexican casserole everyone loved with all the sides. She crushed dealing, as always. We all laughed so hard our sides will ache. Wish Kaleb had won, too, but as he said…at least I lost it to you, Dad. Kept it in the family!” lol, indeed you did, son. There were a total of 5 pockets aces and they got cracked all 5 times. I can’t be terribly upset that mine got cracked, I practically walked into it. Greed… but, I cracked em’ back with KJ♣️ and another time with 7/9♣️ when I flopped the straight.

I’d love a print out of the hands I won with vs the hands I lost with. You’d swear it was backwards. 😉

@UnicornFlash and @horseshoez if things work out, you can be corroborating the poker stories 😊😉🤞🏻

@pharaohone @Aeternus in attendance, 7 players with 3 new players.

My stack went up and down by $100 from this all night:
IMG_1509.webp

Too many fun hands to recall, we played the 7-2o game, where everyone pays 2x BB if you get it through. Towards the end of the night when we were down to 6 players, Player A raised $25 on the flop, I raise to $100 and slide a barrel in… 2 folds and Player A tanks = a glorious sweat, followed by relief that villain eventually folds and I get to flip my 7-2 offsuit to win… $10 by risking $100. Everyone was highly entertained by the stupidity. But it was fun.

Some big bluffs were called, @pharaohone called @Aeternus all in bluff here and got a double up to $800:

Big stack at the table after that hand:

We play bomb pots on monotone boards, I whiffed all of them so never really got involved unfortunately, however every single bomb pot ended up with all ins, so always great action. The below bomb pot had Player A scoop both boards with like a 2% chance of beating the chop/ Ace high flush on the top board:

Love the Tiger secondaries, but the way you have those chips racked in the first pic...

Yeah, I know I know, but there is logic.

I rack up the buy ins before the game so they’re easier to hand out.

First 3 barrels are $100, then my ‘accessory’ chips, and last barrel is $100 of $5s. That way if someone buys in for $100, I just remove the single barrel and hand out. If buy in for $200, you get the whole rack.

I also realized if I don’t have full barrels at the ends, it gets pretty wobbly.

Glad I triggered your OCD though ;)

One of the crazier hands of the night (5 handed NL holdem).

IMG_5231.webp

In: $50, Out: $71.50

We couldn’t even get a green chip on the felt but it was still a fantastic night and affirmed these chips are staying with me.

It occured to me after the fact that those were most likely starting stacks! Makes much more sense, lol.

My top set vs QQ vs flush draw vs gutter, four-way all in on the turn. Flush gets there.

A few shots from Friday's game but stopped at some point once the EH Taylor's kicked in. In for fiddy, out for 4x that. One NLHE orbit then circus for the rest, which was unexpected/welcomed. Think everyone is onboard with that from here on out.

I know everyone bags on the Paulson Classics, but they were my first set of chips back in 2005 and we played them for 15 straight years until I discovered PCF and CPC. So they still reserve their right to represent the annual Tournament of Champions event.

Great run as always by @WedgeRock, definitely one of the tougher players in our club and definitely the most patient and disciplined..... I think we need to start getting you drunk at events...... lol......

Too bad you missed two of the events late in the year otherwise you probably could have taken down the season championship from Harry.

Awesome Robert. When are we gonna see the Nuttall & Mann's Saloon ? Or did I miss some action shots.

p.s. still envying those Biloxi ncv's

I don't recall what the Oct 10 conflict was, but on Nov 7, I was taking my bride out for drinks and dinner. Would've been way cheaper to donate $60 to the game.

Two average finishes would've been enough to overtake Harry. But to be fair, he missed one event too, so...

Happy new year PCF!! Pics from the Dec 30 NLHE in the garage.

@Godzilla28 must have felt he needed some extra luck — why use only one card protector when you can bring the entire team for support??

@TheRealTeddyKGB also stopped by for a cocktail and spiced up the evening with some $100 flips, promptly overpairing @Dread_Pirate_Roberts

Christmas Eve is with the wife's family.
Christmas Day is with my family.

New Year's Eve is with family.
New Year's Day is with poker family.

Thanks for having us out, @Boother36! Good seeing @Boother36, @mike32, @Hooligan350 @jxfan, @Azcat, @Cratty, @Sprouty and a handful of Michinits to start the year.

Table 1:
1000044738.webp

@Cratty was on the end, so I asked him to grab a pic of Table 2:
1000044741.webp

I wanted him to take it sitting down at the table so he was in the pic, but he stood up and took a pic of everyone but himself. He said it was fine, then left me a selfie.

1000044739.webp

My stack was on a roller coaster. Dusted off the first buyin to @Cratty, who hit runner runner for a bigger boat.

Took the second buyin pretty low before climbing out of the hole for a slight profit. Only to go back to nearly the felt a second time. Cashed out for a $45 loss, which would have been a $10 loss if I didn't pay off a river bet playing the wrong game. :(

Won a "pot splasher" too. Literally.

Local (Ross from @Hornet's meetup) made a Royal for half the pot in God's Game.

Great time, great tradition to start off the year. Thanks again for opening up your house, @Boother36.
