I just don't like this payout. Spreading it around a bit keeps it friendly and keeps people coming back.
Yeah that has to be -EV for 99.9% of the players. Variance would be astronomical.

Almost seems like he's trying to "gift" the prize pool to one person, with that prize being fully funded by the players.

The game isn't crooked. There just isn't much concern that has gone in to a lot of it. The host does these games as kind of an "industry" thing to bring together people who work in the same industry. The guys who won the last two months are guys from my regular game who I introduced to this tournament. I have won it twice, although not in a while.

@5aces was nice enough to invite me to his game.
Playing a 5 player sit and go on his 43mm MGM tourney set was a blast.
Chipping up early on a t5000 starting stack.
Set over set crippled my stack shortly after...
Time to rebuy. Got some nice blaze t1000 out of it at least.
Tough run out for a pre flop all in, but I'm not out yet.
Managed to double up through @Santa123 with JJ. Shhh, he doesn't know it yet.
And this is how @5aces looks when he busts first as the host.
A nice run of cards got me heads up with one of his regulars.
We were pretty even in chips and wanted to get the cash game going so we agreed to chop the price for first. In for €20, out for €45.
Getting the cash game started - 5ct/10ct on the cash portion of @5aces MGM set.
Me casually turning a set and rivering quads. I'll never know what the other guy had, but he wasn't pleased with the runout...
Running good.
In the end I was in for €10 and cashed out for €31.
I had a great night of poker and have to thank @5aces for the hospitality.
