Definitely some sad looking chips, Josh.
I’ll get a snapper because it’s a snapper, but yeah…not especially attractive or high quality at all. I fear ICON chips are going to continue gaining prominence as we move into the future, though, because they have one feature that is truly attractive to casino managers besides meeting security and (minimal) durability standards - they are cheap.
i think icon is some sort of cheap ceramicAre these just straight plastic? Yuk. Faux house mold too. Double yuk.

the new Nugget chips are Icon but never shuffled any but have a cheap ceramic look
yah IDK what happened thereThis is what I was looking at on the $5. Do ceramics scratch like this? I thought they were a harder material that didn’t behave like this. At first look this appears like a softer material. Especially considering these are newer chips that probably haven’t been in play too long.

Here are several other locations that use them as well as advertised on Icon's site. RFID chips printed fast and cheap.....I can see these becoming the norm, plus with near flat surfaces they can be sold as easy to clean or low lifespan use becoming economical.

sorry they had background color on the site Icon
Rumors has it that the local Twin River casino, which is rebranding to Ballys and remodeling, will open a 50 table poker room within a month or two. If they do it with this icon crap, humanity will weep.Yikes. Fingers crossed for Ballys rebranding, though I fear it’ll be more of this.
Wondering if they break this easy at the table….Omg they are ICON, that is even worse with the faked mold print
ICON are sluggo not even Ceramic
Below are an old pic that shown they are Brass Slugged Plastic

Will not be surprise if they are as the Palms $5 are already showing wear and tear as a new chipWondering if they break this easy at the table….
To me ICONs feel almost like a "softer" ceramic. It doesn't have the texture like most do and its more of a smooth finish. That could be one reason why most of the printing doesn't look great. This is what I was looking at on the $5. Do ceramics scratch like this? Those colors were not well thought out.Anyone else se definite dirty stack issues with the snapper and Hundo? Yikes!!
Make chipping great again. These casinos really need to take a step back and realize that if they spent a little bit more to get higher quality chips they would be doing great. I've told multiple people that these casinos need to take some younger people like us on here and get us to design the chips. I'm sure literally EVERYONE would love seeing insane looking chips on the tables. Take things back to how they used to be and make chips that people will remember.
I wish I could agree with this. I think that probably over 90% of the people who play in casinos would not care if the chips were Paulson or Icon. They are there for other reasons entirely. These casinos really need to take a step back and realize that if they spent a little bit more to get higher quality chips they would be doing great. True, I guess not everyone, but those that are interested in collecting chips would be the ones that would like it.I wish I could agree with this. yes and some of us kept those old refridgerators from our grandparents because they were amazing, still running and colder than any modern fridge......yet come moving time or such you simply don't have enough friends to move them. Would we all have a old school fridge that will never break made out of real domestic steel that could also double a emergency nuclear fallout shelter? of course we could but those days are pastTrue, I guess not everyone, but those that are interested in collecting chips would be the ones that would like it.
