New mixed set advice (2 Viewers)

Hey guys, I run a .25/.25 game with around 6-7 people, usually get to around 9 rebuys total. I want to upgrade to "nice" chips for the first time, and I really like the Maryland live casino $1's(from MD). I plan on getting a rack or 2 of these, 150-200 thc solids(purple), and the majestic stars for the $5 chip. If anyone has any advice about this set(maybe just better to buy a set like HSI or Cincy Jacks?) or possible ideas lmk.

Likely the condition will vary a lot between the denominations (THC solid : $1 RHC : 20+ year $5 RHC) if u have OCD about that, it might be easier / more suitable for you to buy used or mint set from past TCR sales.

If you are decided to harvest live chip. For 25/25 stake,

I will buy a rack of solid or starburst & harvest 2-3 rack of $1 and 1 rack of $5 from the same Maryland Casino & $20 notes can go into my play or u can harvest more $5 if ur game grow bigger at a later stage

How r the card molds compared to the HSI?

The molds are great! If you haven’t seen the group buy definitely take a look. They are a great set for your more casual game. The HSI chips you can tell the difference but the molds are awesome. I’m still adding to both sets in hopes to have a full cash and tournament set. I recommend looking at the sample sets that members offer as well. It allows you to get a feel for the different chips before buying barrels or racks.

Extremely different.
Cards molds are ceramics made in China. HSI are compressed Paulson clay.

I can’t stand mixed sets simply because of difference in condition. Stack heights will be different between denoms.

I just sold ceramics and looking to finally get a smaller set of paulsons(300 chips- 120 fracs, 120 $1’s 60 $5’s and 20 $25’s
